No apology is ever accepted in these situations. You and I both know that wouldn’t work.

If you can, join Hilltop Energy next summer. The group rates Keith negotiates with Amerigas are far better. I just had my tank filled by Amerigas for $2.92. He also negotiates with Irving to get lower prices.
In my experience in the 30 years we've owned our home, every company raises prices to absurd levels, especially if they consider you low-use, which we are. We were paying $5 a gallon with Suburban and every company we called (Franklin/Chittenden County) said they couldn't do better.
When we came across Hilltop and switched. We haven't paid over $3 since, still while low-use. We've been with Amerigas since and are on autofill. It's on them if they don't fill us in time, and though it's gotten to 5% once, when we called customer service to say we were awfully low and the delivery still hadn't happened, someone was out that same night. Customer service has been great for us.

To be fair, I didn’t have a choice. I was 2 when my parents got out of active duty military. TECHNICALLY, all I know is Vermont.

Honestly, I think anyone choosing to live in a very rural area, miles from the nearest paved road should expect to have very much less frequent mail delivery. I'm sure there are plenty of benefits to living out in the "boonies", but there are also costs. And I think getting mail only once/week is definitely one of them.

Someone posted about this on the Essex fb page as well. They had some good answers over there.

If you are traveling weekends, Pi Alley Garage is right downtown and only 24 dollars a day. Only a .75 mile walk to the Garden.

USPS has been a hot mess over the past year. Actually seems worse now than during the height of the COVID pandemic. They are so short staffed that even a single person taking a single sick, or personal, day puts them hundreds of parcels and packages behind.

My wife is a 4th generation Vermonter. Her family came from French-speaking Quebec around the turn of the 20th Century. I moved here 20 years ago when we got married, and we've since created the 5th generation of Vermonters in the family.

It depends on how long you’re staying in town for and when you are arriving. If you’re coming in after 5 and only for the evening, then Prudential Garage or 100 Clarendon are great, only $15-$10 for the night. There are lots of other garage options that also have evening rates, but I like those two for ease of getting to from the pike.
If you’re staying over night in the city, then park in your hotel, it will most likely have the best rate (expect $50-$75).

No! Just because a cat has kittens in the oven... There's a book "Real Vermonters Don't Milk Goats" that lays it all out. I don't as married into a really real (related to most of the state, names on historical markers) VT family, who just couldn't see the jokes in that book!

I get it, you are clearly the person most qualified at picking up boxes from here and putting them there, what with your wealth of knowledge involving moving boxes at both Fedex and UPS, but you're still a complete fucking moron.

I realize you are probably some vet with PTSD or some other debilitating injury that impairs your cognition. You have my sympathies.
But the VA contracts with several pkg delivery companies in addition to USPS. And much of the 'mail' delivery is actually delivered by FedEx.

This is what I do. Alewife for the Red line or Oak Grove for Orange. Alewife (like the rest of the red line) is a little higher end, garage instead of a lot etc.
