I never said it wasn’t a bad idea, or that it would be the answer we’ve all been waiting for.

Here’s an article that suggests what Vien proposed may in fact be worth pursuing:

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/diversity-law-enforcement-may-improve-policing-study-shows-n1257515

This is from associated press by way of nbc. The right sort of groups to deliver vs say, Vien or Fox News.

The only mistake this dude made was in having an opinion on race relations without the correct identity.

The article does sound reasonably positive, with findings leading to changes in procedures and some administrative punishments for the issues they found.

I believe they should be handled by an independent review process to eliminate any suspicion of bias or potential conflict of interest. In the absence of that this seems like a reasonable approach so far, but there’s always room for improvement!

Edit: spelling.

Generations mean so much to Vermonters...

In my direct male line was a sailor from the Mayflower who stayed and worked in the pilgrim's colony their first winter then sailed back to England. He moved to Virginia sometime before 1640 as an indentured servant to wealthy Quaker settlers and later married a Native American woman.

On my mom's side the family's time in America goes back to coastal Connecticut in the 1630s. There's a book about the family and their home is part of a historic district.

But in Vermont if you had family here by 1900 it makes you special.

Does anyone care? Should they?

Pro Tip: $2.00 overnight parking in Haverhill, MA. Take the Downeaster to Boston Garden/North Station. Easy Peasy. Hampton Inn is a quick uber to the train station.

I used Vermont Construction Company for a roof replacement and they were absurdly expensive but it was good quality work on the agreed upon schedule. I have had better luck getting honest opinions of contractors in local Facebook groups than FPF. You can also look around on Houzz. Thankfully you're in a much more populated area than I am!

I asked the flatlander I married and she says it depends on the venue and that some places let your pay a flat rate to park all day

Thanks, good tip. They are going to the DMV this afternoon, hoping to replace the non-photo learner's permit with one that has a photo, or whatever else they might recommend given the time constraints. I don't think it's possible to get a Real ID expedited but perhaps you can get a non-Real ID learners permit with photo. We shall see. I think this qualifies under TSA's rule:

>Driver's licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent)

I have heard a few tips from you and others about the workarounds for lost and stolen, etc., but I am wary of doing this. We are going to be a family of 4 traveling together and if one of us gets stuck, it will be a mess 😧 Travel is hard enough already.

I didn't get mail for about a week because the normal driver was out for surgery, and then the substitute got COVID. I'd much rather they stay home and recover as well as not expose other people.
