Critters are likely to cross the road or be more exposed to traffic when people throw food scraps out their window. You're more likely to get that critter killed than keep it alive with the 45 calories in an apple core https://www.facebook.com/GlacierNPS/photos/a.360427434911/10156904600259912/?type=3

I feel a great and deep connection to goats, that is true.
I picked up some really unfortunate eating habits from my step father, and my wife makes fun of it all the time.

Toss it, I avoid landscaped yards/gardens for my cores, look for a ditch or some woods.

The whole point was for them to bring high paying jobs with them, not staff 24hr maple fields.

There's no reason these should be more expensive on a per capita rate when you scale up and gain economy of scale.

The census finished right as COVID started to take off.

Expanding "digital services" is just going to end up being more expensive than having books you can keep. They set limits on how long the library "owns" access to the books -- such utter bullshit.
Definitely complain to those in power to change this, but also do some reading on open access journals and books which I'm hoping will take off. Cut out the publishing companies and just share knowledge.

Toss it. Critter might survive because of those calories. And, as my 3-year old told me as he peed out in the woods, “pee pee doesn’t make the world dirty.” Neither do apple cores.

Where on Kelly Stand? Going up to parking area near Grout Pond from Stratton town is plowed as some folks go xc skiing around the pond. I'm guessing this gent tried to go further?

Try to find a wooded spot where the critters will find it and then wing it.

Take the train to the Middlebury Amtrak stop and ride out to East Middlebury. Stay at the Waybury inn and enjoy clear skies up on Middlebury Gap.
