Don't worry it'll be up on VRBO.

Perhaps they don't want to punish individuals coming forward with info that breaks a case because they're afraid that if they do then people won't come forward. Just a thought but not sure

I had a 6 month wait. They did have an option if you needed a mole check sooner if you thought one was super serious

It's funny. I can't find proof of any budget deficits going back a very long time.

And Michigan

This is the case everywhere. COVID and the idiot politics that came with it put a few more nails in the healthcare coffin and then set it on fire. Believe it or not, I have an easier time getting neurology care at UVM than I did back in Michigan. I think this is the exception and not the norm.
Big part of the problem is housing. Doctors and nurses can't find places to live, so they don't put down roots. Other big part is that doctors and nurses get low-ball pay here. UVMMC is fascinated with being "competitive for the region". Fuck that. Want to fix it? Set the bar for the region. They could give all their nurses $5-$10/hr raises and would still pay significantly less than they do now for travelers/contract workers.

This^. As a municipal finance person, I can tell you that the vast majority of those “delinquent taxes collected” for the 2021-2022 tax year were collected in the few days after they were due.

Not wrong. My department was staffed by the same people for 40 years. They all retired at once and now we have a bunch of younger folks who aren’t as eager to settle into one job for the rest of their productive lives. Can’t blame em.

Yeah I used deliver auto parts to mechanics in the NEK. I know exactly the type you're talking about.
Feeling out your position with subtle racist "jokes" because you're a white male too. Luckily, they were in the minority, even there.

Had the same problem with my camp steps. Metal roof would shed snow onto stairs. Took forever to clear them.
Finally got some metal grated stair treads. The snow falls right through. You can also get them in heavy duty polyethylene, which is cheaper. They have the added benefit of cleaning your shoes/boots off during warmer weather. The gravel and dirt falls right through too.

Easy one could be below Moss Glen falls. Maybe a little more complicated would be out on the cross country trails around Von Trapp Lodge. Get a giant pretzel, some beer, and schnitzel afterwards. Really beautiful vistas up there too. Most complicated, but possibly legendary, would be to summit Mansfield.

It isn't odd at all. Some of the delinquent taxes have been paid off in prior years. $10,325 in delinquent for the most recent taxes year, based on 3 mil collected is very reasonable

I was waiting for someone to point that out :)
Nonetheless I felt it was still relevant.

What is the problem. It looks accurate to me. You have delinquent taxes and want to see the amounts due go down each year. Lots of people miss the final payment and usually pay up right away which makes the b alance due drop fairly quickly.

Interesting. I’ve admittedly never been asked to handle escrow payments, but I’m gonna ask my coworkers about them tomorrow. To be clear, I don’t work in Wolcott, but in one of the state’s larger municipalities.
I would still encourage you to look at previous years’ reports, even if a city employee told you that. Sometimes city employees should be directing questions to the appropriate coworker rather than trying to answer them themselves, if that makes sense.
Your Clerk’s office should have copies of every recent annual report.

So, if the clerk is claiming not to have received any of the taxes from escrow for the entire year, wouldn’t that mean multiple mortgage lenders just happened to screw up the escrow payments on all the mortgages that happened to be in your town? If I’m understanding you correctly, that seems highly unlikely.
When you say the town “raked in fees from the escrow accounts”, are you saying that the town clerk collected late fees from all of the lenders for properties in your town for nearly 6 months of late payments? Again, this seems highly suspect.
As a town resident you should have a right to question this and the town auditor should definitely be looking into it (although if it’s like our town, audits take months to happen. 2021 audits just happened in January of 2023).
