Just take half a cup from the very top of the tank?

Lol it does not take a lot to stop a Subaru. They’re pretty good cars alright, but Vermonters need to stop acting like they’re the best made cars.

And am wondering, after so so many reports with the exact same story, what's up with the VT inspectors. Does Weights and Measures analyze the gasoline? Fill their own tanks?!

It ran through our house a couple weeks ago. Wife and 4/5 kids got hit with stomach pains and vomiting for about 48hrs. Didn’t know it had a name.

My mistake.
My point remains. Driving in that lane at 50+mph would be dangerous whether you're passing or being passed. Driving a safe speed in that lane (30-40?) would be dangerous if the passing lane was doing 50+.

Water in an engine can and does hydro lock it. Death sentence. You got real lucky it wasn’t a higher concentration.

A propane fired house generator would be a good idea. Just saying since it’s already there

Good to know, thank you. I will check that before we let the provider know to remove the tanks.

Thank you for all these! I will definitely look into cruising down some of these routes.
I do have the kancamangus highway and a lot of the white mountain highway area of NH16 that I haven't uploaded yet but I have not gone as far north as you suggest I'll have to check it out, as I love that area.

Okay!
-
ME 17 in Maine especially the "Height of Land". Possibly the prettiest place on earth in peak foliage? I only slightly exaggerate.
-
Route 26 from Newry Me into Vt. Just terrain that doesn't really exist anywhere else in New England. I like going west, it's a bit more dramatic.
-
VT 5A. More terrain that is fairly unique for this area. Lake Willoughby is so pretty.
-
VT 102. I prefer it to the NH side of the river. It's much more scenic.
-
NH 115A. Short, but has the best view of the presidentials. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a side trip.
-
NH 16. You probably have driven by Mt Washington, but this road is still incredible north of Berlin the whole way to Eustis.
-
VT 9. I really love this area. It feels like you're surrounded by history, if that makes sense.

Oh, we just got that this week, the night before we were supposed to leave to go visit the grandparents. Luckily we got off lightly in comparison to others in this thread, maybe the eldest and the SO and I had some residual immunity from when eldest brought it home as a toddler and we all fell like dominoes and felt like death. It was still a couple hours of no fun and a tender stomach for a further 24ish hours, and the poor little one threw up all night.

Exactly what I was told OTP by the Agency. That they had investigated other times but with no results. The owner also sorta laughed me off with the same excuse, said that it made no sense because then everyone would be on the side of the road. Idk how it works but there is no denying that it was 100% their fuel because my car was completely empty before I filled up and now is completely fine after getting the fuel out of it. It's frustrating and ridiculous that they can continue to screw people. The State Agency did say he would have someone out there tomorrow morning carrying out inspections but I won't hold my breath.
Careful_Square1742 t1_jaomfei wrote
if you paid for the gas with a credit card (not a debit card) you may have an avenue there.
Gheid t1_jaom5yx wrote
If you’re on Facebook on the Brattleboro group, others have had issues too with this same gas station. The station denies it. VT Weights and Measures says they’ve inspected the tanks and there’s nothing wrong with them. Yet, just in one thread there’s about a dozen people with dead cars that got gas there.

Should only take a day... Probably worth it unless you're getting paid $50+ an hour.
I can understand not wanting more hassle though, but damn I would want retribution

I think the fact that I stopped trying to drive the car after 3 minutes saved it and me. I refused to mess with it, the way it started jerking and shaking was scary enough.
