Reply to comment by Adventurous_Hawk6428 in [Academic] Research Study Opportunity: Feminizing HRT Study (Massachusetts General Hospital) Seeking Transgender Women and Non-Binary Individuals 16 Yrs and Older Hi everyone! by mgh_transstudy
Shall we disregard my 24 year old cousin who just committed suicide? When she was 16 she was convinced she wanted to be a “he”, started HRT, dressed like a boy, started taking on more and more masculine features , was totally convinced she was a he. At the age of 20 she got her breasts removed, and was in transition to have bottom surgery. Approach age 22, falls into a deep depression, start questioning all choices she, and her parents made, wants her breasts back, and wishes she could have children if her own( which now she is unable to for the remainder of her life) wants to be a normal girl again . A few days after her 24th birthday, she killed herself, but I guess she doesn’t count does she? You are all disgusting, and should be ashamed for encouraging minors to make long term decisions that will impact them for life. Do better.

you think there's nothing wrong with terrible graduation rates and 20% proficiency rates?

Wether it’s buckets or barrels or ships, watertight carpentry is based on 1. Straight grained wood that has no knots which generally means old growth trees and 2. Splitting the wood along the grain so as to preserve its integrity.
When done this way the wood swells and contracts in highly predictable ways. Can’t do that with most of the wood that’s available today because there’s very little old growth forest remaining.

No they just want to take your guns. I’m pretty sure these people have never fired a rifle let alone actually been to gun club to educate themselves.

Same concept with old wooden boats. Throw a soaker hose in it and run the water to swell the wood.

The only things in that list that make any sense at all are H395, Increase instate energy production. Vermont should lead the way in new energy production, starting with building nuclear power plants. And H445, Place a moratorium on new prisons. We house enough trash in the state already. Let's not build places to bring in any more of it. Send the crooks out of state and build decent housing for our own citizens instead. 4 H444, Long term senior care sounds ok but more info is needed, particularly about how to pay for it

Found in an old Vt barn. I bought a stack of them, we use them as trash bins all over our house.

You can find them in antique shops all over syrup country. Farms used to have literally thousands of these.
This one looks like it once had a middle hoop.

Farmers would soak the buckets before use to swell them .

I always wondered how they got wooden buckets to work, that's really cool
Bonespurfoundation t1_jawgf9h wrote
I’d be surprised if it doesn’t leak. Usually with an antique stave bucket like this one, you have to keep it filled so the wood stays swollen.
When it dries out the wood shrinks and the seams leak.
A new one can dry out and stay tight for a dozen years or more depending on the skill of the cooper.

Well first thing you gotta do is source your data. Though I don't think it'd be pleasant going to school there with the F-35s. There's also a large refugee population in Winooski so you've got to expect a good portion of students to not have gotten much of a chance at education, or maybe even learning English fluently, before arriving in the US.

There is nothing wrong with Winooski schools. Look at the demographics. It's the most diverse town in the State has a high number of ESL students. The "best" schools are typically the wealthiest and whitest.

Winooski is a community with a large refugee population and a lot of first generation Americans. This presents lots of unique challenges especially in Vermont. There are kids whose native language isn’t spoken by anyone in New England - much less Vermont. It makes meeting any proficiencies a challenge when the communication and cultural divide is so great.
You can always move there and choose to use school choice to go somewhere else. One of my best friends in high school was from winooski but went to a neighboring Chittenden county HS through the program

High percentage of students are English learners. Most students are from Nepal, Somalia, Bhutan, Congo, etc. Winooski is Vermont’s largest refugee community per capita.

A lot of bills get proposed every session. Very few get enacted. That’s sorta how a democracy works.
