Smuggs was fine, sorta busy, but the same as any good weekend. Roads and parking were no issue. The snow was the best I’ve seen all season. I was out in Colorado last week and yesterday was just as good if not better here in N. Vermont.

I don't keep colored lights up, but I do keep the white icicle style lights up that are wrapped around my roof up year round. I only unplug them when Spring comes.

It just helps with the winter gloom, especially when you've had a long day and come home after dark.

That's a good point- but I have had no issues receiving any IDs (including Global Entry, driving licenses, passports) until this year. Let me call them and see what they say.

The fact that people actually travel in snowstorms to ski just comes off as irresponsible imho. Skiing is not a vital function unlike food and shelter during a snowstorm.

I found that I can apply for a replacement- but that costs $25. I will see if there is a way to waive the fee.

I think they are still in transit to you, that the date is incorrect. I don’t think they have reached their destination yet, despite what the software says.

The road up to Jay was a scene out of the Walking Dead. It was epic on the mountain tho. I didn’t have any problems but so many people did - it was a little funny.

It’s been many years since I looked at the numbers for the system that was proposed, but my hazy recollection was that they were going to need something close to a 10% payroll tax, plus a bunch of other budgetary funds from other sources and even then it was only feasible to provide coverage that was equivalent to the 80% AV “gold” plans being offered on the health insurance exchange. Meaning people were still going to be on the hook for 20% of the cost of their care until a pretty high deductible was reached.

People at the time were mistakenly assuming it would be like the NHS in the UK or something and be an all you can eat, completely free buffet of healthcare. For many the payroll tax would have been more than what their contribution for employer sponsored benefits were, for slightly worse coverage.
