Hi! Washington Central is decent (U32 is better than the elem schools, which are okay). Lots of options in terms of towns to live in for this district - Berlin, East Montpelier, Rumney, Middlesex, Calais, etc., so more real estate options. Montpelier SD is also good, but it’s so expensive to buy a house there that you may as well just go to Burlington. Waterbury is also decent. I would not recommend Barre or Northfield at all, in terms of school districts. Feel free to message me if you have other specific questions - I am a parent and teach in this area.

Where are these people working that they only get state mandated sick time? I would gladly help connect them with some better employers.

Anyway, would I use three days of PTO to make $850 dollars plus gas money plus three meals for a study I was interested in participating in? Yes.

I'm aware of the fact it's a catholic school, but it's also in Vermont and catholic colleges vary from openly preaching catholic doctrine to just giving alot of financial aid to poorer students. It's obviously not ideal but it would be 4 times as expensive to go to uvm, so I'm really looking for people with personal experience with the school as opposed to general statements about the catholic church as a whole.

"Based on the schools, Barre is not an option."

Yup.

Waterbury has my vote. Nice walkable downtown. Good restaurant options. Close to Sugarbush, MRG, Stowe, Smuggs, Bolton. Also close to Barre, Burlington, Stowe, Montpelier and Waitsfield. Homes are a lot cheaper than Stowe.

In re: schools, good not great. To wit:

Waterbury, VT public schools have an average math proficiency score of 43% (versus the Vermont public school average of 33%), and reading proficiency score of 57% (versus the 48% statewide average). Schools in Waterbury have an average ranking of 8/10, which is in the top 30% of Vermont public schools.

Huh? Try calling Burlington police and the promt says for any theft to file online I also fine in person to poly e but they didn’t have any officer to talk to in person. Go to Kinney on Shelburne rd and ask if they guy was there, I have no reason to make this up- you are delusional

I work at St. Mikes part time and can say the community is supportive. I know we got faculty shirts for LGBT pride last year. There’s a GSA called Common Ground.
