Young people are leaving blc the pay here is a joke and a condo in williston now costs $400k. They'd be stupid to stay, VT's future is pretty bleak.

That is the future of the state. "Vermont" is gone, it's a resort for the wealthy now.

The work from home crowd is moving here in droves. vermonters need housing.

Seriously. The whole reason Vermont is special and is what it is today is because anyone with a brain left and went west after John Deere invented the steel plow, and there's never been much of a reason to come here since. You have to love it. But we've also avoided a lot of the worst of endless growth and boom and bust economic cycles. I'm afraid the future is bleak, and there's probably not much that can be done about it.

How is what I said insensitive? It’s an acknowledgment of the facts. She traumatized multiple people by doing this. We are even saying the same thing. My family has lost members to suicide and yes we know how much it hurts. We also know what happens when you do it in a way that traumatized others they aren’t mutually exclusive. Dude, has it occurred to you that relatives can see your ignorant and insensitive comments? I bet you would be upset if it was a loved family member of yours. She is my niece and she was loving person, she was loved by many, and we're not sure why she did it because she had a lot of good things going for her. She was not a selfish person, she always thought of others before herself. I get that it's hard for the train crew to see it happen before their eyes, but it's hard for our family because we will miss her and will only have memories of her wanting to make everyone laugh.

It’s Vermont. The land itself tends to not be walkable friendly from a development standpoint. Unless you plan to flatten the entire area like Pennsylvania or Massachusetts things will be mostly car dependent.

And nobody learns. As much as Vermont hates the rich the boomers sure love rolling out the red carpet for them.

If all these schools are gonna be super luxury resorts soon and bring all these "jobs" they promise. Will they pay enough to afford our homes when we get priced out? Just a thought...

"Lack of housing" doesn't quite get the point across. The whole state is rapidly turning into a gated community.
