If someone is a danger to themselves or others they are in fact “taken off the street” via a court ordered psychiatric hold. They will end up at different facilities depending on the severity their symptoms. The problem is that continuity of care is next to non existent when people transition out of psychiatric facilities. The State of Vermont delegates outpatient care to a patchwork of different local agencies and that’s generally where the issues originate.

I wish he had dug deeper on the UVMMC nurse thing. Like reported out on the astronomical and absurd administration overhead. Since actual journalists don’t have the balls to do that.

crazy how the world didn't end with it being open more hours!

They way the town/state government made it sound was that traffic would be backed up to the moon. But instead it is now actually way less traffic to get gas because you don't have to plan your trips around an stupid time setup

You first need to obtain a permit. Obtaining a permit is a knowledge based test. You then need to take your licensing test which consists of a vision test, a knowledge test, and a road test. You must supply an appropriate vehicle for the road test (registered, inspected, & insured). Details on licensing and information related to the testing requirements is available in the drivers manual https://dmv.vermont.gov/sites/dmv/files/documents/VN-007-Drivers_Manual.pdf

Got it, thank you so much for this! That makes sense. So, just to make sure I have the order right on how this would go:

Taking the knowledge/written test (and passing it) would grant me my permit -> receive physical copy of the permit at some point in the mail -> after receiving physical permit, I can take the road test at any point, with no need to wait for anything else -> pass, receive license?
