This isn't enough. If governments were serious about making child raising less burdensome for young adults, it would be $12000 per year, per child, for everyone making $400,000 or less per year. Plus free cosmetic surgery and laser scar removal for new mothers. Plus vouchers for night nurses. Plus incentives for childcare professionals overseas to immigrate here. Plus free community college. Plus 1 year of maternity leave and 1 year of paternity leave.

My girls have a main room of 32 square feet with a vestibule of 16 sq ft. I have either a surface or perch running around the perimeter to give them room to roost. At most I had 16 birds in there that would pretty much only be in there to sleep. I open them up every morning to roam around my property. In the summer, when I can get the gate to stay closed because there's no snow, I close them off into an approx 20'x50 pen area.

There's a great way to make our displeasure with degenerate capitalism known: Don't buy their products.

We produce what food and other things that we can, buy local as much as possible and look for responsible producers of the things we want beyond that. It ain't easy and it's never 100% possible, but it makes a difference.

We have a 12x12 horse stall with a 4Hx4Wx4L "sleep box" or "hen house" inside it, then a 4ft wide 20ft long fenced-in run for 11 hens. The stall/run can accommodate about 22 hens comfortably, but the "sleep box" could probably only handle 2-3 more birds before needing an addition.
