Exactly! I get literally zero value from having to constantly re-register my car, get my inspections, and renew my license. Sure we should make sure people aren’t driving cars that are leaking or falling apart but that doesn’t warrant this level of scrutiny and fees. They’re clearly looking to discourage the use of single occupancy vehicles and drive more funds into the transportation fund now that we’re being more proactive with climate mitigation/fare free transit and grappling with inflationary pressures—both are understandable but they’re shifting the cost burden to the wrong people. If we’re gonna put up with all of these rich folks moving up here the least we can do is tax the shit out of them so we can offset the affordability crisis they’re creating. The same goes for climate!

It’s required and cheap to fix. Unless you live in America. Then it’s required and expensive like eggs and everything else

yeah but let's still insist on needing a front and rear plate, but only one sticker.

Whoever wrote this is either in love with a mass murdering evil government or just trying to bait us. We don’t need lessons on how to bulldoze live families or shoot unarmed children in Vermont. Thanks you very much

My mom lives in public housing in another state and doesn’t have to deal with drug dealers and people shooting heroin bc it’s for people 65 and older with certain income limits.
Elderly Vermonters shouldn’t have to put up with this. Create rehab housing and put them there if they’re willing to get clean.

On the other hand, Pindrus has said he's in favor of "blowing up the Supreme Court". As a Vermonter, I think I could get behind that, given the current state of the court.

This is what gentrification looks like. We are slowly pushing out the working class to replace them with the wealthier trust funders and work from home upper income IT people. This needs to stop.

If we do this right, there will be a lot of equity built into how we move forward. My argument is we need to move forward and make that equity a foundation of the effort.
I don't believe we have the time to wait until things seem more fair and better prepared.

You're not wrong! It's absolute garbage that the state doesn't have nice places for our elderly and disabled to live that won't completely bankrupt their families. the places that do exist for those who are low income and elderly or low income and disabled are just like this all over this state. It's not just a BHA issue it's a vermont issue.
