Just stayed at the Nulhegan hut last week and it was great. But be sure you book long in advance because they do book ahead. https://vermonthuts.org

Good. Double it on you again - especially seeing that you have "I boat in Maine with Muffy and Buffy" money. :)

They don't want us to live here. They want it to be a rich peoples playground and the few that stick around can cater to them.

If you’re interested in a great glamping experience, I recommend Winter River Campground in Corinth. Off the beaten track, but close to amenities and adventures. They also have River front property to enjoy. They do day passes so you can be on the river with your party only without other campers. Beautiful bell tents with queen sized beds and lots of comfy amenities.

Arresting Dealers is entirely different than arresting addicts. Technically speaking, Dealers are guilty of manslaughter if anyone ODs on the opioids they sold.

I don’t think this should even be a consideration until we stop seeing hand written paper plates in saran wrap taped to cars and I get a license that isn’t a yellow copy with a B&W photo of my license from 6 years ago…

State parks are nice. I like button bay. One is never go to is Bomoseen. As soon as the local sheriff cruises through around dusk it runs into a free for all. Music blasting and parting all night.

It’s ostensibly going to the transportation fund, but it was also noted in the article that the state needs to come up with $79 million in funding to get access to Federal grants.
Part of the issue is that Commissioner in Finance and Management has stated that this tax increase doesn’t make sense as the “Fees charged by the state Agency of Transportation have increased “far faster than inflation” in recent decades”.
> Moreover, Greshin said he thinks the administration’s proposed budget for the 2024 fiscal year already sets aside enough money for future fiscal years.

it works well in states that you need to get through to get somewhere, like connecticut if you're driving from NYC/95-S to Boston. but I think it will just end up hurting locals' wallets more than benefit from tourists/visitors.

Great timing, it'll get lost in the noise of everything else that's going up 20% in cost.

Last year I took my brother to Half Moon pond in Hubbardton. It was pretty quiet, they have lean tos, primitives, and cabins. And I caught more sunfish there than I ever have in my life. Enough for a good dinner portion for three people.

Definitely Fairbanks Museum! And don't miss the Bierstadt at the Athenaeum.

Camping on the Battenkill has the nicest people on the planet i have determined. If you do not like dogs, go elsewhere. They are extremely dog friendly and our labs love it there too.
