I just read the bill, it only applies to private schools that are in areas without public schools (and so the private schools are necessary for any education for local kids at all). I suspect St J is an example, or maybe Burr and Burton?

Morrisville, next door to Stowe, is booming with affordable housing.

Reading the bill, it looks like it only applies to independent schools that are eligible to receive public tuition, and that’s defined as a private school in an area that ONLY has a private school without a public school option. What’s an example of that - St. Johnsbury maybe? I can’t think of others.

Towns and municipalities need to provide economic incentives for developers to opt for affordable housing development vs anything else. Could be density waivers, could be offsetting impact fees, could be tax abatements, whatever. This point has been made week after week. It’s tired.

Nah, they're smart enough. But the funding has to be in the proper places. That's why the millionaire congressmen (mostly on the right) have been steadily defunding the IRS for decades. It takes a ton of resources to take down a big time tax crook, like say Trump, so instead the bare bones IRS office is relegated to pursuing poor and middle class America who can't afford to defend a full audit and just wind up paying.
But if we fund the proper watchdog agencies, the big time crooks can get hit and serious money can flow into the coffers, removing some of the burden from us Hoi polloi. Look at the Mueller fiasco - that recovered $46 million from Manafort alone.
I guess I just think our government can and should do better. Otherwise why are we even still here, voting?

Good choice. But it’s a lot of what people do in St J. We lived there for 5 years, not much going on, but a lot of drug use.

You have business cars and dump trucks for work. You are not who I'm talking about when I say 4th car. I'm talking 4 Porches and Lexus and a summer Corvette with three ATVs in the winter chalet, etc. The point is to make those not paying their fair share do so. I'm working lower middle class here, and I agree, we pay a lot - and enough.

I lived in st Johnsbury for 4 years I just moved. There's not a whole lot but there's some things. Fair banks museum, gold crown lanes bowling alley, there's a couple bars. The strip on Railroad street past the big bridge has a few places. there's a bakery that makes fresh bread, boxcar and caboose - book and toy store, moose river lake and lodge - they sell expensive outdoorsy clothes and knickknacks like canes and wooden boxes and they have a jewelry store too and all kinds of stuff. There's 3 thrift shops, some resturants and fast food. Littleton is a 20-30 minute drive away into NH and has a bunch more. Theres more resturants and stores and you can walk on main street it's a beautiful old town there's a covered bridge next to an old mill thats now a pizza place and bar I believe. There's a movie theater a bunch of food places, There's a weird shop on called Aylakai that has all kinds spiritual stuff jewelry and clothes and a basement with smoking accessories and sex toy stuff. I'm sure I've missed a bunch but I don't wanna list things all day.

Fairbanks Museum, Atheneum, Dog Mountain (if you need to cry), History & Heritage Center, Mt. Pleasant Cemetary. If you're thirsty, Red Barn (Danville), St. J Distillery, Whirligig, Schilling (Littleton). Stock up on cheap(er) liquor in NH, that's what the locals do for fun.

I would agree they’re functionally dead in this state, but the problem is people because of the party they’re auto labeled shitheels. When in reality I don’t think Scott is a shitheel, or Joe Benning, or Randy Brock, etc. sure there’s some whackos out there but we’d really do well if we stopped reducing every person under a party to that parties worst member. My $0.02
