Society issue not a government one. Government will just make it worse. If society doesn't want to give up their convenient cheap bottling solution for a more permanent alternative, then nothing will happen. The government will just give money to certain people and tax the rest. Just an L. If you want to cut down, then don't personally buy the product

There certainly are issues with it. I personally think something like a carbon tax would be more effective, and it would better target actual sources of carbon.

There'd need to be something to limit the impact on lower income Vermonters, though (the ones least likely to have an EV or live close to where they work). I don't know what that'd look like.

Same as Rutland, same as Barre, etc. Know why? Because the County Courthouse is smack downtown. What does that mean? That's where the criminals live because their license is taken away. The legal infrastructure grows downtown and local landlords resist investing in their properties - residential and commercial - because criminals trash them. It's a losing system.

The best event is NHRL which is run several times a year and has a fantastic livestream. It's worth the 4 hour drive to Norwalk CT.

Local club? The foundry makerspace in Lyndon has expressed interest in starting one with me. I have a 4'x4'x4' tool cage that could be persuaded to be NHRL's 8'x8' and enough knowledge to turn learning curves into stairs.

It’s not losing money if there is a subsidy and regulations for rent control. Maybe not as profitable and I am fine with that, we need to stop treating housing as an investment made to profit developers and investors. There are plenty of models for this type of public housing where standards of living are much higher than ours, and where housing is guaranteed as a human right.
