I don't even know what you're trying to imply with this. 90's comedy was edgy that ran fast and loose with more divisive issues? Giving ideas to the people who would look at the map and cheer?

It's the same kind of "they couldn't make blazing saddles today" argument that peters out when compared to contemporary edgy humor.

Don’t be so sure about that. Ain’t nobody trying to assassinate Kanye, get your head out of your ass. I’ve lost people to the illness and similar ones (e.g. BPD). The fuck do you know about bipolar disorder generally or his state of mind more specifically? Some estimates indicate somewhere around 20% of people with bipolar die by suicide and roughly 50% will attempt it in their lifetime. His recent erratic behaviour has all the hallmarks of a manic episode. This guy is systematically destroying any social support structure he might have had and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s doing it purposefully. Couple that with the public intense scrutiny (rightly) he’s facing for the increasingly stupid and wilfully insulting things he’s saying and the near instant erasure of a huge part of his fortune, he’s going to find himself staring into the abyss when that depressive downswing inevitably rolls back around. He is in serious need of professional mental health support.

That might be a big component of it. I remember a workplace engagement survey included a question about having a “best friend” at work. And I don’t know that I could think of any coworkers that I’d want to hang out with outside of work, aside from the guys I used to work with back when I started. Let alone someone I’d consider a “best friend.”
