Well, yes apparently on this sanctions regime, but you see very effective solutions out there. Take NAFTA import duty-free terms and conditions (I'm a career functionary) as an example.
You have a penalties associated with breaches of the trade rules, and the income from the penalties are respendable revenue to bolster the auditing programs. So catching these guys is not just a slap on the wrist, it's a slap on the wrist, a hit to the pocket, and a guarantee that they'll be back for more. Those assholes wanting to risk making a quick buck end up paying the enforcement cost. Ask a Canadian or American about cross-border purchasing. If they do it, they know the rules, and they follow them.
We should not throw our hands in the air and give up.

The US is clearly running out of old equipment to send to Ukraine, they're now sending BFVs and M1 Abrams. I would also take that as a sign that things aren't going well for Ukraine right now, running out of able body soldiers.

As a Muslim, I'm just as confused. Just confirms that extremism and terrorists have no religion. They're just fanatics that are brainwashed.

That’s not how it works. There’s a myriad of reasons an emergency scram can occur. An operator error in startup of auxiliary equipment can cause it. Stick with what you know.

Reply to comment by Matsisuu in Haavisto: Finland has patience to wait for Nato membership — with Sweden. by parandroidfinn
Finland and Estonia together can seal off the Baltic Sea from ruzzia, thanks to the narrow gap between them. NATO certainly has the airpower and naval capacity to move large numbers of troop and equipment. Plus what makes you think we couldn't get the supplies through Sweden? Even if they aren't in NATO, they would definitely allow the passage of weapons if war breaks out.
And yes, but the US has the 1st, 2nd, and 4th strongest airforces in the world, and no small portion of those resources are in Europe. The Finish and Norwegian airforces would be more than enough to bolster NATO forces in Europe with US airpower.
Plus you act like Sweden won't just sign treaties with other NATO members. The options are not just NATO, ruzzia, or perfectly neutral. Nothing is stopping them from just signing mutual defense pacts with Norway, Finland, the baltic states, Poland, the UK, Iceland, Denmark, and the US, so that they can join the war effort without being in NATO. Ultimately, being in NATO is more or less symbolic at this point.

Good point. We should double it next time. After all, India believes in isolating itself and doesn’t need help from anyone.

I believe the goal is to get russia to stop invading ukraine and withdraw its troops. Sure the war would possibly be over sooner if no nations provided support. Just like if russia invaded Croatia, the war would be over pretty quick if no nations provided support for Croatia. The ultimate goal should be to remove billionaire dictators from ruling countries for personal profit.

Reply to Britain calls for AUKUS expansion by Falls_stuff
The article in its entirely is:
>Britain has called for an overseeing body similar to NATO to ensure security in the Indo-Pacific.
>The chair of the UK’s defence select committee has suggested the AUKUS agreement, a trilateral agreement between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the US that would expand to include India and Japan.
Kinda hard to spot between the torrent of ads, but it's there.
Also, I just don't see India joining up. Despite what the UK is saying, India is not an ally to the west. It has always loudly proclaimed itself a non-aligned nation. At best it would be a situation like Turkey, where they get membership because of geopolitical importance, but don't really give a crap about the interests of their allies.

Yes it is, I'm merely saying the West should signal that it may need to start considering it. It sends a clear signal to China. If China doesn't change any of its support for Russia after that the West can start small and begin ramping them up.
