intel is a very capable U.S design and semiconductor. Not that far behind TSMC especially if TSMC gets stuck on 3nm plus older nodes are preferred as they are well tested already and less prone to something something I forgot

Chinese chips (and other components) cannot be used in US military equipment.
So they must source elsewhere.

Don’t both of those companies rely very heavily on microchips from Taiwan in the first place? Don’t those companies actually have a vested interest in Taiwan’s autonomy?

Record profits are due to lower investment in production resulting in scarcity. Particularly when you factor in Russia whom we showed to become an energy giant. There were large losses in past years that rather negate record profits overall.
