How the fuck do you line right next to the place and not know what Pine Gap does and what five eyes is? New Zealand, Australia, Great Britain, the US, and Canada. It's a joint use base. Sends signals to drones and satellites operating over the eastern hemisphere.
Instead of having to build your own fancy surveillance satellites + space program, we share ours, along with intelligence that the CSIO is definitely not catching on their own. So you save billions and we get a relay base in the eastern hemisphere.

We actually have right now a free mental help system in Ukraine with many organizations and foundations working with traumatized people. If you or anyone you know needs help, please refer them to those resources, this is not a full list and they should know that more is available if needed.

They’re killing Russian murders and rapists and doing so with extreme efficiency. At this point I don’t care if a few Ukrainians skim off the top to pimp out their bomb shelter. Besides, has any politician in the US been prosecuted for corruption this century? They don’t become millionaires off of their government salary.

The country that mostly speaks English with the most English speakers (country with just the most speakers is India). And some of the other countries that mostly speak English don't like seeing the Butcher's Apron, or having to click on it identifying with it, so it kind of leaves the US flag as the best international option for the language.

He's going to postpone the election. In all honesty the devestation is so great that I'm not sure it's feesible to hold it on time even if Erdogan didn't have an obvious reason to move it back.

Yeah, I think that the guy you're responding to doesn't understand that Canada's ramping up and doing what it can given it's relatively small military. As an American, I'm glad for what Canada's doing and together with other like-minded countries, we're going to get this done for Ukraine.

I watched an interview with Anand (defense minister) and she was repeatedly asked how many of our Leopard 2s were in operational condition, but she avoided the question in such a way it was pretty clear the answer would be a small number. I'm all for sending our tanks, but they are only helpful to Ukraine if they are operational and reliable.

Reply to comment by HubrisSnifferBot in Brazil’s Lula Intensifies Diplomatic Push for Peace in Ukraine by batmaninwonderland
well it does matter because not everyone is Putin stooge. If Lula and Zelenskiy do the song and dance of peace Putin would be cemented as unreasonable party who will call even his allies the west unless they hand him everything he wants. China's plan was a nothing burger, but Zelenskiy who initially was frustrated with it has moved into "we'll talk about". the goal is to isolate Russia rhetorically and eventually Economic. about moving the needle even in India where there is a cynical self interest about "if we play nice with Russia we'll get their stuff when they croak"
Also Vietnam happen in a free society, where the loses could be seen but the benefits of victory weren't. in Russia it is the opposite, a society of brutal repression and where the nationalists have clear goals and "benefits"- i.e. seeing those regions in the Russian landmass.

More reasons not to deal with ordinary russians due to the high risk of a financial crime. I hope people who have left Russia can get a new nationality somewhere and cut ties with Russia.
