Reply to comment by panzer22222 in Chinese company discusses selling drones to Russia by donutloop
Maybe they’re calculating that the west will sanction anyway after they get more aggressive in the South China Sea.. so they sell drones to at least weaken/split up the west’s resources by bugging them down in Europe.

Lol. Don’t mess with Canada. We were very effective in both wars with a small population and small budget.

That’s as useful as invading Canada or Greenland from the North.

Reply to France insists G20 condemn Russia's war in Ukraine 'in the strongest terms' by milktanksadmirer
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 71%. (I'm a bot)
> France said it will not sign off on a communiqué due to be issued Saturday at the end of the talks unless it contains the same denunciation of Russia's invasion of Ukraine as it at the last major G20 meeting in Bali, Indonesia.
> The declaration at the end of that meeting condemned "In the strongest terms the aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and demands its complete and unconditional withdrawal from the territory of Ukraine".
> At a session attended by Russian officials, United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen condemned the "Illegal and unjustified war against Ukraine", and she reiterated calls for G20 nations to do more to support Ukraine.

We already know that this peace plan is horseshit. Zelenskyy is just trying to be diplomatic.

Yeah because the only country we have to worry about defensively outspends the rest of the world combined so it's awful hard to justify spending more on land forces when we have more than enough to fulfill our peacekeeping duties now that we have transports to actually move our stuff around.
Canada's military spending needs to be focused on creating a navy that can adequately patrol and protect our northern sea routes for our allies to use commercially. I think that will provide more benefit to our allies than spending money keeping 80 or 100 tanks at 100% readiness at any moment.

The ukrainian pilots are propably training on F16s in secrecy already.
Its just a matter of time, the US is most likely just waiting for the next big russian escalation (start of their new offensive in spring) to acquire the political precedent for announcing the transfer of jets and drones without risking the madman dropping a nuke in response.
Unfortunately the western world cannot risk to enact a significant action like this in an overt proactive way, not when the threat of nuclear escalation is real. All the spy agencies are worried of putin using tactical nukes in response to something like that, given the fact that thats pretty much his last ace up his sleeve now that his army has proven ineffective.

>I see you have been googling English then you clever clever bastard... no let me guess you've been writing in esperanto and using Google translate for English.... naughty naughty
Correct.
>Some. People. Still .know Latin you muppet
Yes of course. Also please be nice.
>I did my amo, amas, amat at school and you probably know some like E plurubus unum. Or deus ex machina. There are commonly known Latin phrases and I can almost be certain that everyone i went to school with know dei gratia sum quod sum as it was said every frigging day in assembly.
I don't know any Latin.
>I even know a bit of Welsh too and some mandarin... how is that even possible
Good question.
>Jesus, you do know that people out there in the world know different stuff from you?
Yes.
I just find it a funny coincidence that there are so many experts on the origins and historical definition of the word "decimate" mere days after a popular post about just that word. If you had that in your data banks before then, then I am happy for you. It is still weirdly elitist and not even really all that accurate to consider that historical definition of "decimate" as the correct usage in the modern day. It isn't used that way anymore. It has taken on a new meaning. To say someone is incorrect for using it another way is not really true.
>stupid people implying decimation means complete destruction of something
People are not stupid for using the more recent and culturally accurate definition of the word. Please be nicer.

Once upon a time, Abbott said he was going "shirt front". Never happened. To borrow a phrase from (I think) an earlier Prime Minister, Abbott is all tip and no iceberg. 😄

I called a bunch of russians yesterday. From their words: "we are doing great. The economy is booming, russian businesses are growing, our territories are widening, we're happy, and we'll win everybody" yeah, this is all sick, but the sickest thing was to see happy smiling faces of parents of a boy who's at the frontline right now.
