China has no jurisdiction there at all. Those small islands are super close to the Philippines and far, far away galaxy from China. The Hague ruling doesn't recognize their fake 9-dash line. Older maps predate that sham. Other SEA countries also have claims there. They've been blocking and pushing away their neighbors' local fishermen from their own ancestral waters.

See, this is weasely. She wasn't asked to do that, she was asked if she condemned the views, not the right to express them.

> the more you shine a light on these views and debate

The light was shone, the equalities minister refused to then condemn or debate them.

I don't understand your point. I suspect we both disagree with the Forbes views, so what is your political stance on it, if you were asked?

I think the political stance is obvious from part I quoted originally. Forbes had the right to say she wouldn't have voted for gay marriage due to religious views, and won't condemn someone expressing their views based on a religious stance.

If you mean her own views on gay marriage, the article states several times she supports it personally .

>Asked by POLITICO whether she would condemn the views Forbes had put forward, Badenoch directly declined, and said that while she personally supports gay marriage, she “would not want people to condemn me for having personal views.”

My political stance, the more you shine a light on these views and debate them the sillier the objections are - it's what killed the BNP resurgence.

The Avro Arrow is a bit of Canadian mythology - it was an interceptor that was cancelled in the late 50's that Canadians lionize because it was better than what the US and UK were using at the time (at the time being the keyword there).

By all accounts it was a solid interceptor and could break Mach 2 (with one model aiming for Mach 3). But at the time we were becoming less concerned with bombers carrying nuclear payloads and more concerned with ICBMs so the program was cancelled and all models destroyed (except for one that was hidden away, according to the myths).

In truth it might have been a high end interceptor, and the designers certainly knew what they were doing (after cancellation a lot of them went south and got jobs working for US aerospace contractors. It was certainly a fine attempt given Canada's limitations (fewer people means fewer skilled designers and engineers to build the thing). But A couple years after the Arrow was cancelled the US launched the F-106, which had superior qualities to the Arrow (as it existed, not as might have been with the Mach 3+ model) across the board.

Yea, if anyone knows what it's like to get fucked over, again and again and again it's Poland. I know there are inherent political reasons this is in Poland's interest, but I also believe there is a deep sense of "When we fell to tyranny, no one came to help, we won't let that happen to you" in the national memory.

Edit: Fixed grammar insecurities I had in my comment.

""Poland and Europe stand by your side. We will definitely not leave you, we will support Ukraine until complete victory over Russia," Morawiecki said during a visit to Kyiv, standing next to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

Warsaw's commitment to its neighbour has been instrumental in persuading European allies to donate heavy weapons to Ukraine, including tanks, a move opposed by several governments, including Berlin, until recently."

Awesome! Way to go Poland!
