this is not the end of the warming, on the contrary. This will turbocharge the warming.
The gulf stream doesnt just warm many parts of europe, it cools down significant parts of the south.
This will make things so much worse, the warming that is.
We are living in the find out age, after fucking around.

It's brilliant. We always have a means to escalate and we also are showing restraint which goes counter to a lot of their rhetoric back at home. Bonus points for the fireworks show every time we increase their range and force them to redo all their logistics.
Unfortunately, a lot of Ukrainians will continue to die while this drags out needlessly. I wish we could just curb stomp Russia back into the stone ages, but I trust that our military leaders weighed all of that out and are making the best decisions we can given Putin's actions.

Make your individual changes such as eating legumes instead of animals and lobby for bigger changes from large companies

So...lock the country down, start mass testing, trace and isolate know contacts? How hard can it be to implement the knowledge and experience we've gained fighting a pandemic these past 3 years? A virus can't travel if it can't spread. Should be able to get rid of the outbreak in less than 2 months with adequate measures.

it is like jersey retirement in sports, in that if you have a big career no one can use your number. usually it is to honor the losses and ensure that big hurricanes will be the only ones of their name after they happen

The sooner people realize that they have more in common with a random citizen from a country they've never visited than they do with rich people who's skin color is the same as theirs, the better.

They won't use nukes because a) they likely don't have 6000 functioning nukes as claimed b) NATO likely does have way more functioning nukes, and c) using nukes will cause WW3 and literally end the Russian state.

They don't need to retire names to introduce new ones. They retire names of big storms so there isn't confusion later.
You can find names for Atlantic storm for the upcoming years NOAA. Many are not English like Katia, Ernesto, Nestor, Olga, and Omar.
