Extremely cold/dense water underneath Antarctic's floating/shelf glaciers sinks to the bottom & flows North. The sinking of the water pulls in more water under the glacier, and this interaction drives the system.

The deep cold currents split & keep heading North until they upwell in various places, and this helps to cool the environments in which these events occur.

The sudden collapse of a floating/shelf glacier would instantly shut off the system that keeps the water flowing. The upwelling may occur for a short time after, just from momentum, but the 'pressure' driving the system has been cut off.

The effected environments would suffer rapid heating; with attending biological disasters.

I mean there were supposed to be major floodings and mass crops failures back when I watched the news in 1995 and still those "Doomsday" events haven't kicked in. Sry guys, but you people just wait and push the doomsday date further and further into the future. Start thinking critically.

Well, the alternative plan he talked about where Ukraine walks across the swamp, the Syvash, is probably the best plan. I have not yet seen any detailed operational plans discussed anywhere else so I will not say it here. I suggest you look at the Siege of Perekop, where the Soviets walked across the swamp, the Syvash, to flank enemy positions and take them by surprise. I think it might be workable for light infantry. Nevertheless, the Soviets took heavy casualties in taking Crimea.
