This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 81%. (I'm a bot)

> "No matter [whether] it is Taiwan leaders coming to the United States or the US. leaders visiting Taiwan could lead to another serious, serious, serious confrontation in the China-US relationship," said Xu Xueyuan, China's Chargé d'Affaires in a press conference.

> China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Taiwan Affairs Office have also strongly condemned the visit, charging that it violates the "One China" principle, whereby China insists Taiwan is an inalienable part of its territory to be reunified one day.

> Why do China and Taiwan have poor relations? China sees the self-ruled island as a part of its territory and insists it should be unified with the mainland, by force if necessary.

Thanks I got it now. I didn’t know the word could be used in the context of regions. I assumed it was always universal based purely on my exposure to the word which to be honest was very limited to DINOSAURS and DODO birds. I’m an wiser now and won’t assume extinct always means pertaining to the Earth in general but can be local.

Yeah I think you’re drastically underestimate the complexity of information warfare on the geopolitical/strategic level. You live in a Reddit bubble so you don’t actually see global perspectives on the narrative and the effect Russias work in the information space has had. Ask an Indian about their position on the war, for example.

The most recent data on rape is sadly 2010, but the US reports 15x more rapes than India does. Now, I know about unreported rape, different definitions etc., but if you think that is enough to make India the Rape country of the world (which is by stats is the US, 84k rapes per 100,000 ppl), Then you are grossly mistaken.

India has a problem of rape. We agree. In fact it is a huge problem caused by a small population. But generalizing an issue to every citizen of India when the issue is caused by the type of people we Indians hate is annoying, irritating and frankly racist. I have seen so many comments asking why Indians are always horny, Why do they grope girls so often etc. It not only angers me but hurts me. India, while not the safest country ever is not a public orgy country or something ridiculous.

all of my stats are taken from the wiki (which tends to be biased slightly against India, but that's just my opinion).

I have a serious question, so I heard some scientist on BBC radio a few years back saying that the rise in sea levels does not equate to the amount of new water made by melted ice. He went on to say that the weight of the extra water actually pushes down on the seabed effectively making space for itself to a degree, he estimated that the actual rise in sea level was only going to be something like 2 feet which he went on to say would still be catastrophic for many people. Was he right?

Do just fines (suspended fines at that)?
Is this basically Swiss Court saying that anyone helping people who can't prove where their money came from (so it's either from illegal business or not theirs) transfer/store their money won't see any real consequences for their actions? Could be easy find someone willing to help you, if you Can give them enough money and are willing to pay for fines if any wrongdoing is discovered.
