North korea has some rich copper deposits iirc. That is why one of their exports is large bronze statues of dictators (no joke) and presumably the capability to make casings. They also have hydroelectric power despite the population not having access to this, using this to manufacture explosives and other armaments would make sense, that is what some european countries did too in the past. They also have a devision that produces biological and chemical agents. What those exactly are is not known (or at least not disclosed by those that do) but all soldiers that defected are still vaccinated against smallpox and nerve agents are pretty easy to make. So we can make some guesses.
They also produce tanks and submarines but I doubt they will be a match for anything produced recently. Although north korea does have guided missiles, but maybe still relying on soviet tech? Or not who knows.

>Neutrality. What does that mean?
Austrian neutrality is defined in the constitution as a) not joining any military alliances and b) not allowing other countries to set up military bases on Austrian soil. That does not mean that the Austrian state lacks empathy as evidenced by Zelenskyi's speech we provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine (sending emergency vehicles, treating injured Ukrainians in our hospitals, etc.) - we also joined the EU-sanctions against Russia and I think we allowed Nato weapon deliveries to go through our airspace.

Technically the Austrian armed forces are supposed to defend our neutrality but, while a stealthily inserted platoon of conscripts could destroy all of Russias alcohol supplies within a couple hours, they are decidedly less effective at fighting a possible invasion. Fortunately, we're surrounded by Nato countries so for Russia to invade they would have to trigger Nato article 5 first. Unlikely to happen, even more unlikely that Russia would make it to us under those circumstances. This wasn't always the case since the iron curtain was directly at our border for a long time in the past. Then as now the backup plans were: A) attract a lot of international organisations to Vienna (such as the UN office and the IAEA) in hopes that an invasion would cause international uproar and B) if the worst case happens and Russia invades we fire some obligatory shots in the direction of the border and wait for Nato to bail us out because the alternative is Germany's south and Italy's north flank being threathened.

i mean.. north korea needs food. And I doubt they give a shit about Ukrainians dying.
Apparently, China's not sending enough or the Kim-Xi relation is a bit frosty.

When was the last time you seen someone use ad hominem?
I can only think of maybe two or three times I've known somebody to use it ever. This person being one.
When you don't talk like that on a normal basis (like pretty much everyone else) doing so in an argument in an attempt to establish superiority of intelligence through language used is smarmy.
What's worse is they don't do this to appear smarter to the person they are talking to. They do it so they appear smarter to observers and other commentators. Because they know they lost the argument to the person involved so they might as well try and win the crowd.

China is realizing its recent actions have soured foreign investors and firms from investing in China.
If anyone have been following China's business strategy it is wise for any individual investor and firms to be very wary or you may end up losing your money and intellectual properties because China will not allow profits to be transferred out of the country.
During Covid crisis, Moderna was willing to sell China its m-RNA vaccines but China "requested" Moderna turn over its core intellectual property if Moderna want to do business in China.
Moderna would have profited handsomely short term had it agreed to Chinese demand but refused.

Mmmmmm, it's funny you said that. I was very lucky born into the family I have. They stressed morality and a duty to help others if you have the means. Not for a pat on the back or for show in social circles. And it has allowed me to see the side that hasnt been cultivated for a public audience. The wealthy elite use social media to divide the public and create ghost enemies all the time. They have an army of people they pay to come here on reddit and look for key words. Then they start commenting to try and start fires and separate discussion of a VERY clear focused operation to keep that divide wide. How do I know? Because I have people in that world and have been around others who do these things. There are even rules in the wealthy class where you are required to remain silent on the things I speak of. Nothing I previously wrote out is wrong and in fact it's very accurate. So anyone reading this who is a earnest person...ask yourself who is making those comments that try and counter or get you to iqnore what I said....because it is those same people who have created this corrupted system. And they dont want everyone getting together as one team of the many vs the 100 millionaire and billionaire few. The past is a map to this cycle...we need to start showing them for the last time, they arent in charge

Which is why we need to unionize. And it’s happening, but slowly. I predict legislation in the next 5 years that enables all workers to actually unionize, and I think people will do it. People don’t believe the anti-union propaganda anymore… it’s gotten to the point that even if unions were run by the mafia, it would still be better than the zero rights we currently have that continue to be stripped away.

Reply to UK joins Asia-Pacific CPTPP trade bloc that includes Japan and Australia by misana123
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 87%. (I'm a bot)
> Britain has joined the 11-member strong Asia-Pacific trade bloc that includes Japan and Australia after nearly two years of negotiations.
> Some trade experts said joining the CPTPP bloc would harm the UK's ability to rejoin the EU at a later date, arguing that harmonising trade rules with the CPTPP countries would drive a wedge between Brussels and London.
> Allowing secret courts to govern trade disputes between CPTPP members and the UK is expected to spark protests similar to those that helped scupper trade talks between the EU and Washington in 2016.
