They did as much as they could but there isn't much they can do once it's out. The hacking tools exploited vulnerabilities that were inherent to Windows systems. Once they knew it was out they got Microsoft to patch it up, but that requires users to update their PCs, so hackers were still able to get into outdated systems. The WannaCry attack in 2017 used the NSA exploits.

The questionable part, I guess, is that NSA knew about these exploits but instead of warning Microsoft immediately, they used the exploits themselves until it got out into the wrong hands.

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 91%. (I'm a bot)

> The trial of the former Kosovo leader Hashim Thaçi and three others on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity highlights the ongoing need for justice 24 years after the Kosovo war, Human Rights Watch said today.

> Thaçi, Kosovo's former president and prime minister, is charged along with three other senior members of the Kosovo Liberation Army, all senior politicians in Kosovo, for crimes during and just after the 1998-99 Kosovo conflict, including in northern Albania.

> Only a small number of Serbian military and political leaders have faced trial for war crimes in the Kosovo conflict, including former Serbian and Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic.

The best advice is to always use good sources, in university and college I was always taught that the quality of the source is what mattered most.

The internet is no different, I usually grade information based on what organisation or person said it and in relation to the political context.

Random people on Twitter isn’t going to cut it.

Not training them, using them, for very difficult and even dangerous labor. And paying them well below subsistence wages to do it. That's slavery by the definition of international labor standards organizations.

I have little doubt that China's system of labor camps uses pretty similar incentive structures, the inmates are probably paid a tiny pittance, less than 10 or 20% of what local free laborers would be paid, but still not quite zero. IIRC, even the Soviet gulags often paid their inmates a tiny nominal wage. That is not a defense of them, they were grotesque inhuman death camps, a system of slave labor on a scale almost unprecedented in human history.

Most people are just worn out already. The majority that truly care end up suffering with exo-anxiety and depression because as individuals were already doing everything we can, so we just have to sit back and enjoy the ride (or turn away and look after ourselves)

The constant spill of bad news while informative does nothing as long as it's ignored by the people we elect as our leaders.

So Ukrainian War crime trial will start on 2047? At earliest

Times change, these sporting events are now seen as a sign of acceptance and inclusion...of people willing to live by societies rules. By letting Russia partake we are condoning their actions just as the football world cup was justifying an oppressive regime.

It's a slippery slope and whether you agree or not, by allowing these things to happen other countries become bolder in their oppressive actions.

By banning criminal regimes we are making a clear statement that their actions are not acceptable in the modern world.

This is not the 1950s

“Chicken processing plants are notoriously dangerous and understaffed. The hours are long, the pay is low and the conditions are brutal.” Horrible treatment of 200 people who were payed low wages.

Second link: apparently no slavery either. Just training ex inmates.

3rd link: we all hate prison for pay.

Awful shit - no excuse. But slavery? No.
