Have you not been reading what you are commenting on? Old enough to have bought an iMac in 2009. Even if I bought it on my first day of kindergarten, I’d be at least 20 right?

>To be honest, their laptops have always been plagued with hardware issues.
Their laptops are great. Solid performance and incredible longevity.

>The best made laptops are Dell Latitude
I currently own a Dell Latitude and a MacBook. Both are well made. I prefer MacOS to Windows. I wish Mac had a full featured version of Excel.

>I work in IT
That in itself is not impressive or meaningful. There are hordes of incompetent employees in IT departments.

I bought mine in 2009, 2014, 2015, 2019. Every one of them is still working perfectly. I love the longevity of these products.

I bought an iMac in 2009 then handed it down to my dad when it no longer worked for me. He still uses it today to check his email and do some light web surfing. I’m still using one of their laptops from 2014. Th products definitely last.

Enough that they want the feature, obviously.

Reply to Currently got an XR, does everything I need it to and feels more than quick enough still. However, battery health is down to 77% but is still supporting peak performance. My question is replace battery or run it into the ground and get a newer model when she dies? by dooksy72
You could spend $70 on a new battery and get another year at least, with much better performance than you are seeing now. It doesn't matter that settings says "peak performance". It's not.
I expect that the XR will get iOS 17, but probably not 18. You'll still get critical security updates for 17 during that next year. Hopefully the rumored 2024 SE which appears to be an XR clone will be out by then.
I've said I was going to replace my XR for the past 2 years, but I'm still holding on to it. I still get 5-6 hours of battery on a full charge. I rarely go longer than that without being around a charger, so it's been pretty manageable.

I’ve been using iOS since 2008. It does everything I need. I have never had a reason or any curiosity at all to look at a different OS.

I dropped my MacBook once and did similar damage but much worse than that. I used a metal file to make it smooth again.

That's from the TV show. I think most agencies have never had that as their policy or motto.

Each state has thousands of laws. Chances are you are violating one of them right now. A protestor got too aggressive with someone, blocked someone's path, stepped from public property to private property, was intoxicated in public, violated a pedestrian traffic ordinance, or pretty much anything else that you could ever think of.
If the police ever need a reason to arrest someone, our elected officials have gladly given them that opportunity by passing thousands of unnecessary laws.

> Double tap power button to quick access your camera
There’s already a button on the lock screen, a gesture from the lock screen, swipe down to control center, or use the app icon. You can also set up a backtap shortcut. That’s enough ways to access the camera. What would you do for Apple Pay if you removed it from the power button?
> Allow for alarms to be set on custom dates and times
That’s a common request.

Set up text replacement in keyboard settings. I have mine set where @@ fills in my email address.

I’ve never used Android so don’t know what happens.

>We will be making adjustments to our pricing on January 3, 2023 due to the current trajectory of rising prices across the globe.
That's some bullshit right there.

>I don't think I will renew next year cause I don't think it is worth it for $40 let alone whatever the price will be next year.
I bought Fantastacal a long time ago when it was a standalone purchase for each platform. I think I paid something like $5 for iPhone, $15 for iPad, and $50 for Mac. That's about 2 years of their current subscription price.
The subscription is not worth it for me because I still have all the features I originally paid for and there are no additional features I need. Adding in another type of video call support or support for some third party calendar service I've never heard of has no value to me.

>$20 though is a good deal
In comparison to $40, yes.

Tap on all the different icons and look for some settings. There should be options somewhere to turn everything off and have just a blank page. I’ve never used the app, but this can be done on both the mobile and desktop websites, so I’m guessing you can do it in the app also.
