To be honest, I think it's more than that. The economy for most is annoying and a little scary, but I think people understand the underlying challenges. If the job market had been more like 2008 going into the election it obviously would have been a wipeout.

I don't think the distractions about kitty litter and other cultural issues did the Republicans any favors. It indicated to many voters that these are unserious people, and NH's voting majority has always been more pragmatic than emotional, no matter if they're liberal or conservative individually. That's my hot take on it anyway, I could be wrong.

I think overall, this was a nationwide and local vote against chaos. If this trench warfare looks like the normal legislative process, voters might be OK with it. If it turns into a circus of obstruction and chaos, it's going to be a very interesting 2024.

Yup. Weird how that worked out. I wonder what the overall voter intent was with handing more legislative power to the Democrats? If the Free Staters under the cover of Republicans push their agenda too hard and just obstruct any attempt at bipartisanship (standing ground against any perceived center-left pieces of legislation) I wonder if there will be further pushback in two years?

This makes so much sense. I was telling someone yesterday that the Trump party can no longer call themselves conservatives. Conservatives do not believe in CHAOS. The GOP under Trump has become the chaos party. Last night, voters voted for less chaos across the country, except for Florida and a couple other pockets here and there.

I was just talking to someone who said he went to VT and was disappointed in the color. I sent him pics from a few weeks ago of some of the most amazing color I've seen in the state. It wasn't oversaturated. He's like, "yeah, I guess there are some nice colors in there, but I was expecting better." I was like WTF are you on about?

Now I know why he was disappointed. He's probably used to looking at "photos" like these.

Dunno if the 1785 Inn is still as awesome as it was 20 years ago. We had such a great meal there once we almost got married there!

EDIT: From the Google reviews, seems like the place is still awesome. The Christmas Farm Inn in Jackson also has delicious food, but I believe I read it's under new owners so YMMV.

Seriously. I'm so sick of this idiotic narrative. "No money for... x but plenty for Ukraine," as if the US has a finite pot of money and none of it is going anywhere but Ukraine. We just write a fucking check, dude. That's what we do. Put it on the credit card. You need money for homelessness? No problem. We just need a will to do something about it.

Also, the lack of distinction between federal dollars and state dollars here isn't important I guess?

Ridiculous.
