And there's something endearing about the chaos being "stealing garden gnomes because you believe in their freedom".

Maybe the rule "You know you're competent at your job when no one notices you or what you're doing" does exist in some capacity in high positions too.

Apparently they had this ingredient called manna, which, in the time when Moses led the Israelites around, were collected by them to produce some form of cake.
I think it was said to be sweet, so I guess the Bible does know something about good pastries made from a likely imaginary ingredient.

Reply to [TIL] Early in his career, Colonel Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, had a habit of getting into fights. He once had a shootout with a competitor, Matt Stewart. After Stewart shot and killed one of Sanders' employees, Stewart was convicted of murder, eliminating Sanders' competition. by OvidPerl
That's definitely one way of removing your competitor.
-
Challenge them to a potentially fatal duel.
-
Have somebody nearby.
-
Stage it up so your competitor kills that somebody.
-
Convict him of murder, thus costing him his business.
-
Profit.

It would be something of a revolutionary result if they did do that.
Knowing that your time is up, but you still have a few more things to take care of? Just eat this pasta, and give yourself one more month to get all your things in order before you pass!

Flip a coin every time you read "Winston Churchill" to read that part as being the person of choice.

But 20 can be divided by 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, and 20.
Two fewer divisors than 24, but it's not too significant a change. You still get half and quarter days, nicer tenth and fifth days (i.e.: Integer divisors), and almost as nice eighth days (2.5, which is easier to do arithmetic with), but you get bad third and sixth days (repeating decimals).
