I've been seeing a lot of trees shedding bark this year. Wonder if the warmth has anything to do with it. I've got a huge silver elm tree that I'm going to need to cut down unfortunately.

Stories like this are why abortions need to be legal.
Nobody clutching their pearls in here actually gives a shit about the baby. They just want their fundie justice porn and forget about the new orphan.

Yes.
It's your land.
Just take it and throw it in the trash. If they ask, just say you have no idea what they're talking about.

AFAIK alcohol delivery is illegal in the state outside of distributors for commercial businesses.

Reply to Can anyone identify this insect? by smdifansmfjsmsnd
Stink bug. Harmless. Eats dust. Doesn't even really stink.
Just think of them as thick ladybugs.
When it does "stink" it kinda smells like cilantro.
They're all over older houses. We call them little buddies in my house.
They're solidly on the chill bug side of the insect spectrum.

Reply to Newcomers to New Hampshire and Maine continue to drive population growth: More people are dying than being born, so population growth depends on people moving in from elsewhere by TurretLauncher
I'm all for more people and I'd personally enjoy the state go blue instead of purple (at least until the republicans figure out that being assholes isn't a valid policy), but I do hope NH and Maine keep what makes our states beautiful in mind.
No, it's not NIMBYism. It's regional identity. Keep apartments and density in city limits. Keep single family homes with land outside of cities.
That's what makes our areas so nice. Don't ruin it so we can pack more people onto the planet.

People debate about the causes of gun violence all over the place, but the real answer is mostly just population density

Reply to Now that the storm is over and the trees weathered the winds - what has everyone experienced price wise for tree removal? by sdemat
I had seven Ash trees cut down a year or two ago for like $700, they were in a pretty safe spot.
I've got a huge tree next to the road that's dying or dead and I'm sure that's going to cost several thousand.
It's all over the place

I don't think about what my food's ingredients are 90% of the time.
Most places do have salads and subs, but I get what you mean. Vegetarian is a lot easier than vegan.

Last I checked vegans weren't a collective group that affected others. You can be a vegan in NH just as easily as any other place.
Unless you mean some sort of weird political vegan agenda(?) like the libertarian loonytunes.

Honestly, I'd say if you want to stay in NE and aren't happy with Portland but want to find someone you're gonna need to go to Mass.
Portland is where I tell people your age with your problem to go.
Manchester isn't a bad choice for NH but its just... a much shittier Portland.
