The Saudi’s are smart enough to learn from history.
They are diversifying now, while wealthy, instead of repeating the mistakes of Spain during their Golden Century.

Oil is used for far more than just fuel.
It’s one of the backbones our civilization is built upon.

The government can do as much as it has the will to accomplish.
The only questions are whether the government will choose to act and in what manner.

I am not expecting the research or breakthroughs to slow down.
I am expecting public releases to get snarled up in litigation.

This goes right back to closed systems.
The companies with the advanced AI’s are not going to give you copies to run on your private computer.
It’s going to be software as a service.

The AI itself won’t be on your system, and it will be regulated.
Even if you live somewhere like China that doesn’t enforce copyright, you will still need access to the AI that is subject to copyright laws.
China, meanwhile, is already regulating AI generated content.

The cloud? That is owned and operated by the companies developing the closed systems?
The best machines? While competing against companies with billions of dollars of dedicated funding?
You need to reevaluate your logic.

I doubt it will be legal without licensing fees, if that is an option.
Authors and artists are already turning to the courts. Direct conversion of a specific creators works via AI will almost certainly not pass legal challenges.

If you are talking a small island (Guam) it would be much lower numbers.
If you are talking about Hollars in WV, it might only be 3-4 generations. The Hollar I am familiar with had 2nd cousins marrying and only about a dozen families in total.

I don't disagree.
But it's not as simple an equation as return everything to what it was and get rid of the cattle. Look, cattle are no longer producing methane.
You have to account for what was there before, which included large herds of bison.
To demonstrate the true reduction, you have to account for what takes the cattle's place.

Do you have studies accounting for the reintroduction of bison that show a reduction in methane from the proposed changes .
After all, the people advocating for how green cellular meat is are the ones pushing for change. It is incumbent on them to do comprehensive studies.

Returning the land to nature would include returning the original inhabitants.
In North America that would mean replacing cattle with million strong herds of bison.
Ruminants converting grass into meat and methane does not change.
