VCU tried to pave a parking lot over the Devil’s Half Acre in the last 20 years.
Major cigarette corporations were headquartered here and used to give free cigarettes away to anyone including children on the street for free.
95 running through downtown was originally the Richmond/Petersburg Turnpike and was voted on multiple times by Richmond residents and voted down each time and ultimately still approved as a result of the State Legislature overruling those votes.
Opponents of school integration not only protested Brown vs. Board of education by organizing caravan protests from Richmond to D.C. to drive around and cause a ruckus but they also founded many of the private schools around town to prevent integration.
The Commonwealth Club used to not only be segregated but was also a restricted club (no Jewish members period or Women allowed beyond the foyer)
Edit: There’s also a book about ghost sightings by Capitol police officers. For example an entire balcony collapsed at the Capitol and killed lots of people.

Call Richmond Behavioral Health crisis line: https://www.rbha.org/services/crisis-response.aspx
OR take them to Tucker Pavilion.
Any ER can take mental health patients but most will try not to if they can. Tucker Pavilion actually has an inpatient psychiatric facility unlike other hospitals.
I had a friend in crisis recently get bounced around hospitals in Richmond, refused admittance from two ER’s in spite of what the crisis line told us to do, and this person was immediately admitted to Tucker the next day and was there for more than a week.

When I’ve had experiences like this I’ve asked them to show and explain to me each problem they hit me for and explain/justify it.
If you think they’re exaggerating the state police manage the inspection program and you can call them.
It used to be they would send an officer to perform the inspection themselves and if there are discrepancies the person doing the inspection is in big trouble. I imagine it’s not so different now. They don’t fuck around.

It’s owned by the City, Richmond, and Henrico. So not exactly the same method of operation as a typical business. There are lots of private and corporate events held there though so not necessarily things that would be listed for the public.

Body found in trash can and it’s only implied the victim was shot. Garbage reporting as usual.

What is Gorgeous George up to these days? I know at one point he was driving for Uber. I’m sort of surprised he doesn’t have a talk radio shown given the world seems to have come around on his personal brand of bluster, ego, idiocy and misogyny.
Anyone seen him or know what happened to him?

Is an industry wide problem found locally?
Is there a city where this isn’t a problem?
