If I’m sitting on the side of the road, out of your way, why do you care about what I’m doing? Worry about picking your people up, how you are driving, what music you’re playing, whatever. I have worked for a legal firm for 1.5 years and gained experience in civil law as a paralegal and I really enjoyed the convos/relations with lawyers, clients, etc. it’s something I would love to continue to do as an attorney, but I’m also a big believer in financial freedom and I have obtained that currently. Went to community college first and transferred to an accepted 4 yr uni. Graduated undergrad with virtually zero debt and I have a lot of financial freedom as a result and idk if I am okay with being broke again for 4-6 years as I try to get through law school. It’s really hard to put yourself back into the trenches once you have moved up, you know? That’s where my conflict lies :/

Imagine delivering a child on Monday and being expected to teach a lesson or grade 80 papers by Friday EOD. The audacity. I have been following TUGSA for the last several months and TU has also threatened their international grad students with deportations and housing security if they gotten involved in the strike.

Costs ain’t the issue, quitting my job to study full time is lol public service work covers legal costs and stops the payments but you have to invest 10 years of your life to get student loans forgiven. It’s something I’m contemplating. Haven’t decided to commit to anything yet

I think there’s gotta be a balance between education and a person’s finances, and it comes down to making a really tough decision. Ideally, I would have loved to go to law school right out of undergrad, but I just had/still have bills to pay and I can’t afford to leave my current career to study full time as a law student. It sucks that life is like this but I had to choose work experience over academia and my pockets and living situation are a lot better now, but now I’m missing out on grad programs/law school. It’s not too late to go back but I would have to give up my pay check. It’s a really tough decision to make for low income and middle class folks — being confined by class barriers

Facts. Personally, I would have owned this. Take it to the chin, be very transparent about going to meet contractors who rented the space out, not the Union league board members. Talk about how I’m trying to connect with the trades to ‘build’ a better Philadelphia, etc. I wouldn’t have apologized for meeting some of the largest contractor groups in the city/east coast. Elected officials need to coordinate and work with these groups of people. 110% Every candidate running for office in Philly would’ve been there if it was any other venue in the city. She’s ballsy if you ask me lol

I disagree with your picket line example. I don’t see this as crossing the picket line. She met with global contractors that rented the space out for the evening. She didn’t rent the event out for a campaign fundraiser.

Totally. I’m not disagreeing with that, Idek how her or her team didn’t see a red flag in going. There’s people from all campaigns and journalists just waiting to knock candidates out of this race. This kind of slip wasn’t helpful

This is such a lousy attack. She went to meet with global contractors, not the board of the Union league. How else does a Mayoral candidate get to meet 30+ business owners in one night? Sucks that the venue was the Union league but she’s trying to run an entire city here. Meeting 30+ businesses and going office to office isn’t efficient, especially when there’s an even that is hosting all of them in one night
