All three were druggie criminals, it’s not surprising that they turned on each other.

Especially when criminals rarely catch serious gun charges. At least two of these three idiots should be facing federal charges for possessing firearms and possessing meth, that’s a big felony right there. But they won’t, for some reason prosecutors are hesitant to go after criminals when they get caught with firearms.

People who abuse math are often up for days at a time, you have to be pretty stupid to start doing math in the first place and both doing meth and not sleeping for prolonged periods of time damages the brain.

The Federal government has struggled with staffing for years, it’s not just the Postal Service. USPS, USCIS, CBP, BOP, BP and TSA all have staffing problems for a variety of reasons, the most common being starting pay and terrible hours. I’m sure there’s more administrations that are hurting these are just the ones that I know about. So it’s common to be forced to do mandatory overtime which most people don’t want to do and this leads to more people quitting which leads to more mandatory overtime.
Most people would prefer a 9-to-5 job even if it pays a little less and don’t want to work weekends or mandatory overtime. Plus the Postal Service is stuck delivering heavy packages now because of the prevalence of Amazon, they’re doing more work for the same pay. I know a few part time mail carriers and they also have to worry about crazy rural people pulling guns on them despite them obviously delivering mail and getting yelled at by people because “they aren’t working hard enough.”
Also the postal jeeps don’t have functional heaters or any AC so it’s a real shit job for 7 months out of the year. So unless you’re willing to work extra hours, give up your Saturday and drive around freezing or sweating through your shorts maybe understand why people don’t want to do this job. I don’t know about you but I don’t feel like driving an ancient, heavy rear wheel drive jeep with all seasons and no functional heater in winter.

Feels like it’s too late for that, I’ve heard they’ve called the cops on a few neighbors over them doing legal stuff but who knows.

Do as you choose, I’m not passing judgement. Most gun owners know very little to nothing about gun laws and I’d rather than make an adult decision instead of blundering into a felony.

To start with it’s legal and it’s my land so that’s enough explanation but you seem cool. we got threats at work during the pandemic and a few people I used to know went full QAnon insane the last few years. Had one threatening to come visit me if you feel me. One of my neighbors also had a vicious pitbull they refused to leash that kept coming on my property, I’m carrying for real reason it’s not just hypotheticals. It’s extremely rare that I open carry because I don’t want to scare people and I’m not doing it to look tough or pretend I’m a cop but it was hot and it’s difficult to conceal a full size pistol under a sleeveless tank top.

So some folks from Massachusetts bought a house in my tiny little neighborhood last year. They’ve gone out of their way to not be friendly, i’ve waived them several times and they refuse to reciprocate. They have a terrible habit of slow rolling through the neighborhood and just staring at people instead of rolling down the window and introducing themselves. No big deal right? Well last summer I was on my riding mower open carrying A pistol as it is legal and my right since this is my land. They stopped their car in front of my house and both were gesturing at me and of course I didn’t appreciate that. I hear they’ve called the cops a few times on neighbors that were target shooting legally on their property.
So don’t be like that, you don’t have to be best friends with your neighbors but going out of your way to not even wave hello is some bullshit. Don’t move to a rural area and freak out because you hear occasional gunshots or because you smell cow shit because there’s a tractor in the road. Don’t freak out because you bought some land, chose not to post it and people are hiking, fishing or hunting on it because that’s perfectly legal unless you post it per state regulations.

Cannabis use makes you a federally prohibited person and you have to lie/commit a felony on your 4473 background check to purchase a firearm. I think the federal prohibition of cannabis is bullshit but state law does not circumvent federal law regarding firearms. Not saying you’ll get caught and not telling you what to do but all firearms transactions in Vermont have to go through an FFL including private party sales, since 2018 and you can no longer just buy a gun from a private person without a background check. That said tons of gun owners smoke pot, just wanted you to be able to make an educated choice. The MMJ card complicates things because it documents your marijuana use.

So for number one if the roads don’t get plowed us blue collar folk didn’t get to work either. I can’t walk 40 miles round-trip to and from work.
Two you’re telling people to ostracize their neighbors and members of their community for engaging in capitalism. That’s fucking crazy. Seriously how fucked in the head are you to blame blue collar people for serving white collar people?
Third we have a state Senate. There’s 30 senators and each one represents at least 20,300 people. It wouldn’t make sense to have more senators in the lowest population areas because that would be tyranny of the minority. Four I don’t take issue with, I came here for years ago and I still don’t vote on the state or local issues because I don’t understand them well enough yet.

Again I disagree, we can comment on a poor decision without needing to be cruel to the people who made it. These men didn’t knock over a liquor store or rape somebody, they went ice fishing during fall weather.

You’re being extremely cruel, all three of the men that died were old men and two of them were very old. They probably weren’t keeping up with the weather then did what they always did and that’s go ice fishing. it cost them their lives and I doubt their families would appreciate your opinion.

Three people died and we’re in the middle of a heat wave, it’s good advice. People have to drive, people do not have to go out on the ice.

People often don’t pay attention to much of anything, this time of year should be perfectly safe to go out on ice but it’s been about 30° warmer than it should be most days for the last month. Others are just stubborn, others don’t understand that bad things can happen to them.

Same here, I refuse to go to ranges that aren’t monitored. I’m not dealing with people we’ve been drinking and don’t give two fucks about my safety. As I said I’ve told a lot of people how to shoot but the number one thing I teach them is gun safety and I also focus heavily on how a firearm is always your last option. I preach de-escalation, conflict avoidance and understanding that a gun is not a I win the argument button. And I got called a Fudd for having wood furniture on my rifle, that rifle is a Yugoslavian AK.

You know it. I used to be big into target shooting and taught a lot of people how to shoot. Never pretended to be any more than that and always found it funny how guys would be their lil paramilitary costumes and struggling to hit targets at 25 yards with rifles when I’m shooting pistols at 50-100.

This guy has both claimed to be some secret squirrel ex military and also a Fed or cop, he is/was none of these things. The guy lost his gun rights and can’t legally own or handle firearms yet somehow he’s running a paramilitary military school and threatening to kill his neighbors.

Money. Federal dollars keep up the runways and provide fire and emergency medical services to the airport, the airport doesn’t do a lot of business these days so without the military base it would struggle. Airport navy does 2/3rds the passenger volume it used to pre rona and even then it was rarely all outside of 4-5 hours a day.
