"Ah, Flora. What a nice surprise." Lucifer grins at me as I enter his throne room.

I kneel before him. "I understand you were hoping I'd abuse my powers, knowing the more I used them, the more I'd enjoy it, leading to me accepting my fate of becoming a demon..."

"Hmm, so Urrick told you?" he questions.

I remain kneeling. "He promised no more secrets. I don't hate him for everything that happened - that was clear after I cast a spell on him."

"So he even told you about demon names?" I can tell Lucifer is getting a big kick out of this, but I must mind myself.

"Yes. I would like to tell you that I spoke to several others about my situation; my parents, my friend Zack, Nie who informed me about the transformation in the first place..." I look up.

Lucifer leans forward. "And?"

"No-one is really happy with HOW this happened, but they all pretty much said it's my choice. There's only one thing: I don't think I could handle immortality without my best friend, Allie, but I hardly want to make her become a demon." I take a deep breath. "Am I allowed to gift immortality to her?"

Lucifer perks up in interest. "So you're saying, if you can make Allie an immortal human being, you'll accept being my minion?"

"Yes, sir" I reply.

Lucifer nods. "I understand. But I'm sure you know everything has a price. Considering everything Allie has been through, she'll hardly agree to giving up her soul..." Lucifer mumbles to himself, then grins. "Very well. In return for you becoming my minion, I'll let you gift Allie with immortality, on one condition..."

I spot Allie with Malessor out in the grassy field. "COME ON! NO FAIR!" Malessor yells.

Allie giggles. "I told you I was taking you for a walk! I'm not about to let you run off!"

I smile to myself. Gosh, is it good to see the old Allie back!

"I was just trying to get some exercise!" Malessor moans.

"Well, I want a peaceful stroll! Remember who's in charge!" Allie taunts.

Malessor turns around, smiling shyly. "Right... of course..."

I head down, laughing, causing the pair to turn towards me. "Having fun with your pet?"

Allie giggles again. "Yep! He needs more training though!"

"What am I, a dog?" Malessor asks.

I shrug. "You want to be with Allie or not?"

Malessor looks at Allie and sighs. "Yes... I do..."

"Forever?" I add. This gets raised eyebrows from them both.

"What are you saying, Flora?" Allie seems confused.

"Well, as a human you'll just end up dying, then what? Wouldn't it be better for you to live forever?" I suggest. Allie balks at that.

"Yeah, I've had enough of that stuff! I've been through far too much! I won't be a demon!" she responds.

I shake my head. "That's the best part: you can remain a human. Literally all that's required from you is for you to spend a whole day in hell every Thursday."

Malessor almost falls over. "Boss will let you do that?"

"Yes, in fact the visiting hell thing was his suggestion! And Allie? Lucifer promised it will just be a visit to hell. You'll go to see him, have a casual chat, then you can do whatever. No more torture. No more being used. It's like if..." I pause for a moment. "If you were to spend the whole day in this field - no one will do anything to you or TELL you what to do." I bring up the contract. "You can read for yourself. Hand-written by Lucifer himself."

"This seems too nice of boss..." Malessor remarks. "He's not gaining anything else?"

I glance at Allie, notice she's got her full focus on the contract, then wink at Malessor while saying "Lucifer knows what he's doing." Malessor nods in understanding.

"Alright, this contract is exactly as you said, Flora. I guess... I'll sign?" She picks up the pen and signs the contract. Almost instantly, I feel something. A tail pops out from behind me. My horns grow larger. My hair disappears. My skin goes from pinkish to red. Allie looks at me in shock.

I shrug. "I did say Lucifer knows what he's doing. He wasn't about to let me off easy." I smile.

"Ok... let's straighten this out. Urrick, did you think Flora knew?" Zack seems to be interrogating Urrick now.

"Well... I mean... I don't know... I guess I thought she'd figure it out... but I didn't do it while KNOWING she didn't know..." Urrick is just staring down now.

"So were you ever planning on telling her?" Zack folds his arms.

Urrick takes a deep breath. "I... never thought much about it..."

Zack narrows his eyes. "What about when you were at Flora's place?"

Urrick squirms slightly. "All I said was it's far too early for her to join me... I didn't..." Urrick suddenly goes quiet. Zack begins to walk over.

"WAIT!" I shout. Zack stops and looks at me. "Urrick only goes quiet like this when he's confused. I think... I think he's as shocked and scared as I am." I think for a moment. What do I do now? It seems like, eventually, I'll either be a demon for eternity, or die as a human.

During this moment of silence, Lucifer chuckles. "So the only problem is WHEN he told you, is it? If he told you from the start, you'd have still accepted him?" he taunts.

I look at him. "Probably. I mean, maybe not? It's hard for me to say... but I do love him..."

Lucifer nods, smirking. "Ok, so you have your answers now, everything is cleared up. I believe you can release Urrick now."

"Hang on" Zack calls. "Flora didn't say she's ok being a demon!"

Lucifer shrugs. "The alternative is she dies a human and is under Urrick's command anyway. Wouldn't being a demon be more fun, Flora?" Lucifer's gaze locks onto me.

I stare at the ground. "I don't know... it's all far too confusing..."

Lucifer again puts his arm around my shoulders. "I suppose I should mention that I take good care of my minions..." he glances at Urrick "...no matter how stupid they act."

Urrick's face goes pink, causing me to giggle.

"Ok, how about a trial run? I have the powers that demons have for a few days, I try them out, see how it feels." I smile at Lucifer, who's grinning now.

"Of course! Hold still..." Lucifer steps back a bit, then chants a spell. "You won't look any different, but I promise you you do have powers now. Try aiming a finger at those ropes."

I look at the chair Urrick is still sitting in. I lift a finger, and before I know it, a bolt of energy shoots out, destroying the rope Zack used and trying to dispose of the holy chains. Lucifer puts a hand on my shoulder.

"I've got it from here" he says with a wink, demolishing the chains. Urrick stands up and looks around, a little dazed. "Well, that was quite the show! See you two later!" With that, Lucifer is gone.

I run up to Urrick. "Urrie, please, promise me... no more secrets..."

He pulls me into a hug. "I promise, love. On that note, I'm going to tell you something about Lucifer giving powers to a being without turning them into a demon..."

"What do you mean, Flora?" Zack asks. "Urrick doesn't hide things..."

I shake my head. "That's what I thought. Look, we can't do this out here. Please help me take Urrick back to yours. Your family has a basement we could use, right?"

Zack shrugs. "Yeah, we do... but when we get there, you owe, I think BOTH of us, an explanation."

I look at Urrick. "Come on." Zack and I get him to his feet.

"Flora... I don't understand..." Urrick seems about ready to cry. I hold back my instinct to comfort him.

"You will soon" I state.

We get to Zack's house. Zack unlocks the outside entrance to the basement. "Take Urrick inside. I've got to make sure my family won't come in while we're... doing whatever it is you're planning." He rushes inside the house. Just before I start walking into the basement, I feel his presence. I turn to look.

"Lucifer" I greet.

Lucifer walks up to us. "I thought something felt off... Flora, you remember who's supposed to be in charge, right? What exactly are you doing here, so late into the afternoon, with Urrick chained up like that?"

"Things are strange, Lucifer. I feel tricked and deceived. I need answers." I stare coldly at Lucifer.

He nods. "Very well. But I'll be present for this."

"But, boss-" Urrick starts.

Lucifer glares at him. "Remember that day, when I invited you and Flora for lunch? You told me your relationship was for real, didn't you? In your words, 'she's not a toy or a tool'. If you truly love her, then this little situation shouldn't be a problem for you." He grins.

The three of us enter the basement. Zack has already set up a chair and even grabbed some rope. His eyes shoot up when he sees Lucifer, but he doesn't say anything. I shove Urrick onto the chair. I grab the rope and tie him down as tightly as I can. For several moments, we're all silent.

"Flora... love... what happened?" Urrick asks. Without a word, I grab the book Nie let me borrow and chuck it onto Urrick's lap. I then open up to the relevant page.

"Corrupted soul. Human slowly turns into a demon. Know anything about that?" I question. Urrick's eyes go wide. Zack seems shocked, and Lucifer is confused.

"Wait... you didn't know, Flora?" Lucifer puzzles.

"No. When I first asked for Urrick and I to be together forever, I wasn't expecting a partial soul exchange." I stroke my horns. "I thought I'd just be a half-demon. But that's not true... is it, Urrie?" I put as much venom into the last word as I can.

Zack snatches the book to have a look himself. "This... no, it can't be..."

Urrick has begun to tremble. "Flora... I didn't mean to trick you... I was trying to fulfil your wish..." I give him a hard slap.

"DO YOU KNOW HOW CONFUSING AND STRESSFUL THIS IS? DID YOU WANT TO STEAL ME? USE ME? I TRUSTED YOU, URRICK!" I'm shaking myself. Lucifer has put an arm around my shoulders to comfort me.

"Urrick... you assured me you love Flora. Why, then, would you trick her like this? I have no problem with the stunt itself, and of course I take pleasure in a human's pain and suffering, but love works differently, right?" Lucifer looks straight at Urrick.

Urrick sighs. "I... I've seen a partial soul exchange once before... it kept the pair together forever... that's all I wanted... for myself... AND for Flora..."

"But, Urrick, why didn't you tell her what will happen? This whole thing is why Nie's parents summoned an angel. You know Flora's life could be ruined as well, right?" Zack states.

I take a deep breath. "You lied to my dad, Urrick! I took you here because as far as my dad is concerned, this ISN'T happening! You TOLD him I wasn't corrupted!"

Urrick just breaks down into tears. "I didn't mean to lie... I never meant to hurt you OR your family, Flora! I'm sorry!" Seeing Urrick erupt like this instantly breaks my heart. I guess, despite all of this, I still love Urrick. I walk over, place a hand on his cheek, and kiss it. Urrick looks at me hopefully.

"You should have told me a lot sooner, Urrick. About how the soul exchange works. I do want to be with you forever, but... I don't know if I want to become a demon to do it..." I let out a sigh.

Zack walks towards Lucifer. "Is Scott going to be with Vulca forever?"

Lucifer laughs. "Yes. You see, the longer a human remains in the afterlife for, the closer they get to death. Heck, most humans in a position where they're in the afterlife all the time don't even REALISE they've died! Only IF they try to come back to Earth do they realise they're dead!"

Well, that explains... hang on... "Urrick?"

Urrick just shakes his head. He clearly feels ashamed. It's obvious now why he wanted me to spend so much time with him: it would kill the human part of my soul all the quicker. I know Urrick genuinely loves me, but to go to such lengths...

I love the casual friendships, and how the MC tried to embarrass the couple haha. Good story!

PRESENT MOMENT =FLORA=

During Scott's explanation, Vulca removed the choker off of Allie and even destroyed it! Allie looks at Scott desperately. "NO! Don't stay with her! Do you know what she did? I...

I had to massage her! I was a footrest! SHE MADE ME DANCE WHILE WEARING A HELLHOUND COSTUME!"

Scott glances at Vulca. "Really? That's the worst you got?"

Vulca shrugs. "I was never going to harm her physically."

Scott looks back at Allie, responding to both of them. "Then I got no problems."

Allie gasps as Zack slaps her back. "Come on, everyone knows Scott's a bit of a weirdo! He was gonna take a cursed item from Walzer, remember? And who can forget his obsessions with ghosts and exorcism and stuff?"

Allie nods. "That's true..."

Vulca gives Allie a hug. "I'm sorry for making you do those things... I just didn't think any option was open apart from a choker, and..."

"...And I was an easy target" Allie finishes. Allie's steel seems to resolve. "Right. I need to stop being so weak and fragile."

"Guys" I call out. "I... I can't ho-" the door holding Zorl bursts open, sending me flying back. Urrick catches me and puts the bracelet back on my arm.

Zorl looks around and spots Allie. Aaron gets in front of her, sword out. "I'll destroy you! Don't come any closer!"

Zorl growls and looks at Vulca. "WHY DID YOU LET HER GO? SHE WAS OURS!"

Vulca shakes her head. "I wanted a real-life mannequin, you know that. I got carried away. You want a toy, a plaything, but you don't want to do it correctly."

"WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?" Zorl yells. Lucifer steps forwards.

"It means you want to take a human by force. Fair enough. But you don't want to make claims or wait. Really, if someone told me this whole charade was your idea, I wouldn't be surprised. Didn't you just get released from heaven after being arrested for kidnapping a baby?"

"A BABY????????" We all turn. That was Tasha. She can get sensitive about things like this.

Zorl scoffs. "What's the problem?" he retorts.

Tasha goes into an absolute FURY! She charges at Zorl, doing her best to beat him up.

Zack rolls his eyes. "Aaron, finish Zorl off before Tasha hurts herself." Aaron glances at Lucifer, who nods, then slashes at Zorl, who didn't see it coming due to being distracted.

At once, Zorl lets out a roar, turns to dust, and disappears.

Everyone is silent for several moments, before Zack clears his throat. "Well... that was unexpected..."

"My business here isn't concluded" the angel states. He calmly and gently walks his way over to Vulca. "God told me that once Allie was safe, I was to have you and your brother either arrested or destroyed." He holds out an arm.

Scott looks between him and Vulca. "Wait, so... Vulca, you're going?"

"Seems like it" Vulca sighs. She looks at the angel and nods. He clears his throat.

"Vulca... for illegal possession of a choker, use of a choker, and stripping a human of free-will, you are to be held imprisoned in heaven." Vulca reaches out a hand to take his. Silence.

^("Never gonna give you up...") everyone looks to see where the voice is coming from.

^("Never gonna let you do)wn..." the voice is picking up. Everyone figures out where it's coming from.

"Never gonna run around... and desert you..." Scott seems to be saying this for Vulca.

"Never gonna make you cry... never gonna say goodbye..." as everyone stands dumbstruck, Scott takes the hand Vulca is holding out for the angel. "Never... gonna tell a lie and... hurt you..."

He grabs her other hand. Silence again. Then, Aaron bursts into laughter.

"Did... did you just say part of that rickroll song? Not even SING it, but speak it?"

Scott looks at him and smiles. "Yes, I did. I was creeped out at first when I was distracting Vulca..." he looks at her. "But... she's not bad. Just distracted easily." He looks at Allie. "Allie, do you forgive her?"

Allie lowers her head for a moment as she thinks. Then she looks up, a fierce, strong, fiery determination in her expression. She walks up, stopping in front of the angel but looking at Scott and Vulca. "No, I don't forgive her..." she turns to the angel with a soft smile. "But I already made the mistake of not trusting a demon once. I don't want to make that mistake again. If Scott really thinks Vulca deserves another chance... then let's give it to her."

"Ready?" I ask shakily.

Flora take a deep breath. "Yes. Urrick..." Urrick nods and removes her bracelet. He gives her a kiss.

"Be careful, love." Urrick looks at me. "You too, Scott." Lucifer summons a portal, and Flora and I enter.

We were told which houses we need. I go to the one Vulca is in. Flora enters Zorl's, Vulca's brother's, home.

"Oh, this is certainly unexpected" Vulca remarks, eyeing me. I maintain my cool. "You have some nerve, you know... after what you did..."

I get to my knees. This is humiliating... but... it's for Allie... "Forgive me, my lady, but I had to try... that choker..." I look up with hopeful eyes. "I... I found it, and... well, I'm interested in strange objects like that... if I had known what it was, I'd have already been wearing it!"

Vulca stares at me, blinks, then laughs. "So THAT'S why you tried to take it from that girl!" she walks over. "You can still be mine... if you want..." the way she whispered that was supposed to be erotic, but I just found it creepy. Still, if I can keep this up...

"I need proof..."

"Proof?" Vulca is kneeling right next to me. I'm like an insect to her.

"Proof I'm not just an object to you, that you care. One night of passion."

Vulca grins as she pulls my head in for a kiss. As grossed out as I am, I need to keep this up. As her tongue enters my mouth, I reluctantly put mine in hers. After a few moments, our lips part, and she seems flushed. I have her now! "Come to the bedroom" she says softly. I follow her lead, hoping I can distract her for just a little longer...

=ALLIE=

Zorl has my shell dressed in a demoness outfit again. I'm not even trying to fight anymore; thanks to this DAMN CHOKER, I'm at the full mercy of him and Vulca. He has me on the couch, my shell making out with him. Suddenly, there's a knock on the front door. "Who could THAT be?" Zorl grunts, annoyed. My shell doesn't move as he gets up and answers the door. Suddenly, another demon appears to be standing there... a demoness... but why does she look a little different?

"Hello, Zorl" she chimes cheerily. "I heard you've been having fun with a 'human' female?"

Zorl seems taken aback. "How did you-" the demoness puts a finger to his lips, moving the finger down slowly.

"Darling, I know everything" she remarks, sounding flirty. "To tell the truth, I've had my eye on you for a while. Wouldn't you prefer one of your own kind?" She puts her face right up against his.

Zorl steps back. "I... um..."

"Come on, handsome, spend the night with me!" Putting an arm around him, and with him caught completely off-guard, she leads him to the bedroom... but not before I realised something:

That was Flora.

Shortly after, an angel enters. My shell is about to cry out about an intruder, but before I knew it, a soft, gentle, protective glow was surrounding me. I realise I have control of myself again... I... I can move! "Come" the angel whispers. I follow, out of choice! I forgot what this feels like already, to choose what to do!

As we're leaving I hear shouts. "YOU'RE NOT A DEMON!"

"DID I SAY I WAS? ARE YOU GOING TO USE ME OR NOT?"

"I ALREADY HAVE A FEMALE HUMAN! I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE JEALOUS!"

Flora rushes out the room. She's no longer wearing the costume, now in human clothes. Zorl exits behind me as we make a dash for it. "ALLIE! STOP BREATHING!"

I turn around, smirk, stick out my tongue, take a deep, LOUD breath, and leave. Flora shuts the door after us, holding it shut and attempting to stop Zorl from getting out.

=FLORA=

"ALLIE! YOU'RE OK!" I'm crying tears of joy as I give her a HUGE hug. Lucifer steps forward.

"Allie, I cannot apologise enough for what happened to you... it's time this thing comes off." The angel stops using his powers, and Allie's eyes are blank again, as Lucifer prepares to remove it.

"Allow me, boss, please." We turn to watch as Scott and Vulca arrive. Scott appears exhausted, and Vulca seems satisfied.

"YOU???" Tasha angrily exclaims. Aaron readies his sword.

"Calm down, everyone" Scott calls. Everyone looks at each other puzzled. "Please, let me explain..."

EARLIER =SCOTT=

Vulca practically dragged us two onto the bed. I look around at her room and realise it's full of strange artefacts. "Do you like my collection?" Vulca asks.

I turn my attention to her. "I... I'm always interested in charms and cursed items... I don't know why, I'm just... always drawn to them..."

Vulca smiles sincerely. While she's vulnerable, I take a chance. "So... why did you wish to claim Allie, especially with something like a choker?"

Vulca shifts herself so she's sitting up. "I had a suspicion this was about her" she responds. "I just took the bait because I was curious... how willing are you to swap places?"

I look at her puzzled. "What?"

"Well, first I'll answer your question. I've always wanted, what we demons call, a 'real-life mannequin'. Someone who'll do what I ask, when I ask, without question. Guess how many humans are willing?" Vulca looks at me with saddened eyes.

A realisation hits me. "A bracelet isn't powerful enough, but a choker is basically what will make your wish come true." She nods slowly.

"I only had Zorl in on this because he's a blabbermouth. I... I hated that I had to let him use her like that, but..." she sighs. "Doesn't excuse what I did, does it?"

I look away and give myself a moment to think. I look back, blushing. "For what it's worth... you're a great kisser. I'll think about it, but could you just let Allie go? Please?"

"She's right outside, isn't she?" Vulca smirks at me. "I could sense the moment an angel took control from me. Let's go."
