What you said has virtually nothing to do with what I said. Please re-read what I posted, starting with

> A push back to smaller trucks would be a great start. The vast majority of pickup owners are compensating, rather than actually using it as a means of hauling stuff.

The fact that you're aware of all the problems simply means you're a person cognizant of their surroundings. It's not the fault of a driver or a person on a bike, it's the fault of humanity as a whole.

Earlier this week, I was riding on my bike - in the bike lane (left side of the street) - getting close to an intersection (9th and Monmouth). A car speeds up in front of me, makes a left turn going the wrong way down a one way street (9th) to drive about 30 feet to pull into a parking lot.

People are fucking stupid. It shouldn't be this way, but it is.

Sure, they're nice and all. What empty block would you like to have a park built on here in downtown JC? The good news for dog parks is that they're very popular amenities for LUXURY BUILDINGS to have. I can think of three at Newport, two in Harsimus Cove and one over by Zeppelin.

You dumb, ignorant useless turd. There are currently literally zero legal options available for voters to expel her out of city council. Get that through your head.

> more than snark at her on Reddit.

People literally just did a protest (OUTSIDE OF REDDIT) as a way of attempting to shame her (again, literally the only legal option directed at her) to do more than snark at her. This is the thread concerning that.

Again, to repeat the point, people literally just did something IRL and you're out here complaining IN THAT THREAD ABOUT THEM DOING THAT IRL THING that people should stop complaining online. You dumb fucking loser.

How the fuck is anywhere in Jersey City a good commute to LIC, much less the south end? If you're driving, you're talking Holland Tunnel through downtown Manhattan up the FDR and into Queens or all the way through Staten Island and Brooklyn on the BQE - those routes suck and are constantly congested. Not to mention an extra couple hundred dollars in tolls every month + gas and wear & tear.

If you're doing it by public transportation, that's a good hour+ each way even if you make all your connections between the PATH and the MTA. Why wouldn't you just get a condo in Elmhurst or Jackson Heights or North Corona or Forest Hills? The briefest of zillow searches shows plenty of them available for significantly less than that.

I'm not saying you're wrong here, because they're probably just being asshole landlords (but I'm repeating myself). I'm simply questioning the timing aspect. If you suspect discrimination, document everything you've got and send it to a lawyer - perhaps there's a pattern.

That said, without a ton of evidence, it's a hard case to prove. Look at ol Don Trump back in the 60s and 70s - they basically had to prove by his own sheer malice and stupidity that he was guilty of it. They literally found applications with a big C written on them for "colored" to show a pattern of discrimination against black people.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but if there was only a gap of 3 minutes between the rejection and the bank email, then have you not considered the possibility that merely the bank was slow in sending you the email

>However, I got an email from my bank after her rejection that she ran a credit check on my application. I am new in the country so am not aware of laws, but I have to assume that it is wrong of her to run a credit check after she has already denied my application?

>Even if let's say she ran a credit check before rejecting (there is a gap of 3 minutes) before credit check and her latest response.
