I believe there are areas off the Kanc that were logged several years ago. You should be able to see the overgrown logging roads going into the woods.
Doug_Shoe t1_iyjj0wf wrote
I don't have any specific spots to tell you. But, in general, you could check out recently logged areas. Because (unlike parts of the forest w/ tall trees) the small trees have more of a chance. You will also see this effect in or around marshy areas. The reason is that trees generally don't grow very tall before they fall over. So therefore there are more small trees.

If you get too close to a bear (especially a mother with cubs) then it will likely give you a warning swat.
From the article, my best guess is.... Dog is released into the yard unattended. The brave, little thing sees bears and decides to defend the kingdom against invaders. Owner goes outside and gets close to the bear while saving his dog.

It's is "normal" or common. Many of the shops these days will charge you for a re-inspection. You have to ask questions before you do business with them. Ask if they charge for a reinspection. Also ask about the time frame. You don't have forever to make the necessary repairs and get the 2nd inspection at no charge.
I don't know anything about your car, the situation, or the shop. However 60 days is not reasonable. I know you said <60 days, but 30 days would usually be too much time.
Another hint- Don't bring an old car to a dealership. There are also other shops that don't want to bother with old cars. They will just fail you perpetually until you go away. More honest shop owners will tell you.

no. Rural NH. It wasn't uncommon. People don't know our own NH history going back 1 or 2 generations.

dunno. have a well. no water meter
My Mom had a pump well outside until she married my Dad and left her parents' house. They had to carry it in, so I'm thinking less water used.

I had a friend who would drive to the place he worked to poo. I asked why. He said he didn't want to stink up his own house.
Now I know he saved water, too. Thanks, Reddit.

You sell Self-Defense-Against-Bigfoot courses, right? That's amazingly luck that Bigfoot decided to attack you all those many times. Now you got lotsa Bigfoot fighting experience and can sell those courses. That's great.
Do you buy lottery tickets?

oh, so- Bigfoot attacks world-wide are rare. And in NH it's even more rare.
BUT- it's happened to you *multiple times*. Wow! That's amazing. I mean- what are the odds?

Oh ok. I'm not sure because I'm having trouble knowing what kind of sound you mean. My guesses are -

a person.

if it sounded like a giant lawn mower then my guess is logging equipment. Certain things are allowed in areas of the WMNF including collection of firewood from dead, down trees. Logging companies get licenses. Workers have to clear fire roads, driveways for Rangers etc.

If someone is driving slow on the highway in heavy rain, my guess might be that he can't see. Maybe his wipers are junk, defrost doesn't work etc.
I'm not buying the theory that people are afraid to accelerate in rain.

Are you still making bombs at your house? Do you still offer to teach homemade bomb making? Like molotov cocktails and stuff? Your bomb making flyer from a year ago-

I was wondering- Do you still make homemade bombs? Do you have any bombs or explosives at your house right now?

That's a lie. A real scientist could simply point to his work. You can't. -Because you're not.
AND - If you were actually the top scientist in a field then a simple Google search would produce all kinds of results. But nothin. I even searched academic works. Nothin.
Perhaps the Dunning-Kruger award goes to you, my friend.

This is my favorite exchange in a long time. You claim I win the Dunning-Kruger award while identifying yourself as the world's leading scientist in your field. Irony?

Reply to Do Not Buy a House in Brookline! There is no water by LackSufficient7852
Not enough information. For example, I don't know how deep your well is. I've been in your situation (I think) and everything worked out.
It could be that your well is ok (in that you can learn to live with it). I expect that you may have been trying to use more water than your well can provide. A deep well is like a water tank. You have a certain number of gallons in there. If you rapidly use a lot, then you have to wait for it to refill. It could take half a day, for example. If you have been doing things that require a lot of water, then maybe that's it. The house might be livable if you learn how to conserve water.
But, if that is the case then that should have showed up in the water test. They test how much water is going into the well. In order to pass, you need to have a certain number of gallons per minute.
Like I said- not enough info. But I expect that you have been using more gallons per minute than your well provides. I also suspect the test was correct. You have to learn to live with that, or have a deeper well drilled.
The cost of drilling sounds high. (Granted I'm a cheap, old man so all prices sound high). I had a well drilled several years ago, and one over a decade ago. So prices would be more now, but your quote seems way high.
