It is a recall in the sense that if the car fails to automatically update to this software version, it needs to be taken off the road and serviced immediately.

Or you hold them to the agreements that they made when the US government gave them billions on the condition that they run fiber. You do know that not letting corporations run rough-shod over the country is an option, right? Anything involving changing public policy or other large scale changes should involve moving in that direction, not just throwing our hands up and saying “I guess we have to make incentives for capitalists to not be fuckheads!”

Reply to Robot companions are on their way, but don’t worry, they won’t replace humans by WallStreetDoesntBet
JFC, can people write a single article about artificial intelligence or robotics without stopping to reassure humans that they’re still magical and exceptional snowflakes? People have repeatedly tried to say “machines could never do x” since the first machine was invented, and they have been proven wrong every single time. Why commit to being on the Luddite side of history?

Yeah, people seem to forget the fact that money and power are thicker than blood. No matter what somebody’s ethnic background or gender is, the moment they ascend beyond reasonable means, all of that stops meaning anything compared to the fact that they are now rich and you are not. Do we really need more minority and female CEOs in this world or do we just need fewer CEOs altogether?

Okay so let’s build costly circuitry into disposable masks then? Oh, and don’t forget to make sure your mask has batteries, otherwise it won’t be able to tell you whether it fits or not.

If I’m being honest, I’m far from concerned about the amount of energy that research takes up

You stop intentionally extracting salt from other sources and use the salt that you get from this process instead. Convert sea salt farms to use wastewater from these. Use it as a chemical feedstock if eating it gives folks the willies.

I’d expect moderators to be able to recognize the difference between hatesturbation and legitimate criticism and moderate accordingly.
