ExploreRI.org is great for finding places to hike and boat. Those are great suggestions. The NST is a super walk to see varied terrain - and you can say you walked across a state.

I go to Apsara or sometimes Four Seasons for stuff like that. The Apsara on Broad/Public street is better than Hope, if you ask me.

So much good stuff to eat in RI! I don’t get pizza too often, but I do leave the area for it most of the time - usually Providence.

Welcome!
We have the Foster Home Journal and Valley Breeze & Observer for local papers. Geocaching, hiking, and fishing are pretty good here (Glocester, Smithfield, Scituate and Foster land trusts do a great job with trails, for instance). Over the line in Killingly, there’s even more outdoors stuff.
There is not a lot of great food in the immediate area, IMO. Mostly pizza type places, although people love Corner Bistro in Scituate for Italian.

Isn’t that something? It’s not like it’s even as much as a stamp, or even close anymore. I had paperless billing from National Grid, but had to sign up again with RIE so I could rack up the $$$ from this.

Me too. I wish we could get somewhere - I tried every angle.

I need to try Poore Manl
Clover was great when it was easier to pick things up at the storefront… still excellent if you can get their stuff
I also love Madrid.

I’m picking up a huge order this week, for no other reason than to treat myself! It’s amazing.

Haha, I thought that was so weird! I love birch trees, but I would not want to cut one for a Christmas tree.

I think you’re right. The people there are generally half my age and not particularly warm. Staff is usually good, though.
I try to go weekday mornings to avoid people hanging out waiting for me to finish figuring out a problem, haha. But more belay partners would be great.
Oh cool! I've rappelled on rock, but have not climbed a whole lot. I’ve never done ice, but it looks fun.

Oh, how fun! I didn’t know they allowed dogs, but I love it. People have encouraged me to go there, partly because they are much more generous with their ratings, so they feel like better climbers :) it may help if they still don’t have autobelays… that probably makes people more sociable.

I saw it a few days ago - in the fridge near the tofu, all the way to the right, after the produce.

I adore Rock Spot in Wakefield, but have not bumped into anyone too friendly while climbing. It’s too bad, I’d love more climbing friends
I recommend looking at what Meetups are out there. Hiking, paddling, walking, etc. - I’ve met good friends in those.

It was lovely today! I didn’t photograph because last week it was nicer - purples as well as oranges. But today was plenty nice.

And have had 2 energy audits, the last one a few years ago. We did very, very well, and swapped out the few non-LED fixtures for LEDs.

I have a <2 year old hybrid heat pump electric heater. It has continued to be set on the minimum safe level.

I could not get anyone there to listen! I mean, usage should be like 1/4 lower if you are away for a week. I only had my fridge and well pump connected that week! I am looking into borrowing a kill-o-watt for the fridge, but I really doubt it’s using that much more than the remainder of the house. It’s Energy Star, as are all of my appliances.

They told me some form letter stuff about using AC and having people home more than previous years. Nope, that is not the case here. 340 to 408 is not a giant jump, but it sounds like you should be lower than last year.
