It really isn’t a great structure for a retrofit. Too many issues to bring it up to modern code.

Elm Street is a fine street. A little to the south towards Chandler gets kinda sketch, but even then it’s not terrible. Highland St is really nice. Lots of good bars and food joints. Plus WPI is right there, so good security with the student presence.

You will be fine. Because we get a lots of snow, the city digs out pretty quick. It’s not like some places that shut down with 6” of snow.

No, not really. Most of the folks who think that grew up in very sheltered small towns. I lived on Mission Hill in Boston for years and Worcester really isn’t bad at all.

The WRTA sucks, but is free. You can get by depending on neighborhood. Downtown has much more these days, so you should be ok.

32 year old professional married male. Liberal. My wife and I love it here. Yes, it gets cold. Yes, there’s a lot of snow. If you’re renting snow removal doesn’t matter. My wife isn’t from here and she enjoys the city. Lots of good jobs, great sports scene, and plenty of culture.

Not true. The Medical School and Memorial Health are legally separate entities.

We just had ours done last week. $3,500. I’d recommend my oil Company but they aren’t taking new customers.
I called around after they gave me a price, because I initially felt it was high. It seems the going rate is between $3,800 and $4,200 when using a company.
Independent plumbers will be less, but good luck getting a tank on your own, and you’d have to pull permits. Also not sure how much disposal fees will be.

My wife (healthy weight, early 30s, non-smoker and minimal drinker) has been coughing since September too. No COVID, she’s tested weekly. I haven’t got sick either. Antibiotics didn’t help. Doctors said bronchitis, but it’s been a month and still lingers. Very strange.

As others have said, the Hilton isn’t bad at all. There is also Courtyard by Marriott and a Hampton Inn very close.

It’s not only the Ball Park… lots of reasons, including high cost of food service items, and inflation, have eroded the razor thin profit margins. Also, most places can’t find staff and owners are working 65-80 hour weeks to make up for it.
Parking is obviously an issue… but the ball park is only open for home games 70-something days a year.

This isn’t a great map. A lot of the F areas are likely because of outlier issues.

People swear by Haddads. I have given them a few tries, and have never been impressed…
Nick’s On Site Detailing gets good reviews, but I’ve never used him personally.
I have had good luck with Ziebart on Route 9 in Shrewsbury, and for the price, they are consistently decent.
