People underestimate how remote and mountainous the Olympics are. Information can be sparse. Be very cautious on 101, especially by lake crescent.

You can buy tannerite in that grocery store.
Forks is a silly place.

Don't listen to this guy. Cotton kills. If you're going outside, goretex, waterproof shoes and wool or synthetic base and mid layers are key.

There is about 2-3" here in Port Angeles today at about 500'. If you don't have an insulated and heated van/camper, or very, very warm sleeping system it will be far too cold and wet to sleep in your car.
It is 17-18 mi to the base camp of Mt Olympus so don't try that unless you're into being the subject of a rescue effort.
It is very pretty from hurricane ridge though! That road is fickle- only open fri-sun most weeks and heavily dependent on our (copious) snowpack.
If you're out in the area, cape flattery is incredible. Be sure to give the Makah a visit and pay to use their recreational lands if you drop by.
Prepare for cold, wet weather, and stay indoors at night unless you have your shit together, and you'll have a blast!

Ugh fuck off dude this is a mile from the trailhead. I know you probably send super hard and do CrossFit and ski miur in the same day or whatever, but that isn't the point now is it?
We all go off trail to climb. The point here is that this is a very, very popular waterfall where people have died from this exact circumstance.
I'm sure you take your toddler free soloing in j tree too.

It is so counterproductive. We need active land management in our forests.Controlled burns in shoulder seasons, gladed logging, selecting for preservation of fire resistant old growth, logging dead trees, collection of underbrush.
There's a hundred years of dead fuel in so many of these forests of young, uniformly sized, touching trees.
Acres and acres of drought-dry fireplace, ready for some yayhoo to throw a butt out a window.

There were wildfire evacuations just up the road in Index not too long ago. Thing can go sideways quickly. Friends in the area are saying that aqi is regularly in 300-400 range via purple air. If the purpose of your trip is recreational I'd cancel.
