No no but for real, firefly is a favorite in mass. In RI I find durk's to be very good. But I don't know any better.

I've lived in Providence for 7 years and personally I've never had an issue with multicultural diversity "nonsense". I guess I just don't understand how the op's problem has to do with race or culture, sounds like they have shit neighbors.

To be fair to your point though, if given the choice I wouldn't live in smith hill.

There is a way to take the train but it would take a long time . Unless your home and or office is convenient to a station it would unlikely be viable.

I went over the scenario anyways...

To be in Needham by say 9 am, you would need to catch the 6:35 am train from Providence. To get to Needham you would need to get off at ruggles, back bay or south station and wait about 20 mins for the Needham line, (7:50 from south station)

Depending on how far your home or office is from the station, your looking at about 2 - 3 hours, one way, to get to work this way. Could be a good idea say you didn't have to be in the office for a full day and can get work done while in transit.

The best parts of Providence are all close and is definitely bikeable and walkable. The east bay bike path was mentioned and I agree , a great suggestion. For great gf indian food , ride up Blackstone boulevard and hit up rasoi. Last thing I'll mention is if you're using a scooter on the bike path do your best to be considerate and please try to avoid the sidewalk.

My favorite neighborhood I ever lived in is probably fox point. It has lots of amenities on Ives and wick (I need to be in walking distance to a sex shop).

The issue with fox point is it can be a bit higher traffic, lots of pedestrians and can be hard to park at times. I'm biased because I'm partial to bodies of water tho.

The least favorite neighborhood I lived in (Providence) was probably mt hope. It has good access to the highway though at the time I was taking the train which wasn't too far but that hill was brutal. Safety wise, nothing ever happened to me but you would always hear about crime stuff happening at the local playground. People say that camp st is notoriously bad.

I'd say, kinda ya. In some of the nicer parts of town homes are pretty competitive. Plus I feel the loft style places are definitely the hot commodity right now. For people looking for good transportation or walk ability I'd say it's ok, but some places are pretty dodgey to be walking around to be honest. One such area I feel will likely turn around soon is near the new mbta station opening late January. It will be a 6 min ride to downtown Providence for $2.75. lots of loft places nearby and probably more to come
