I thought the developers company behind the Shaq towers bought the land were the park would connect to the other side behind the Newark legal building and the smaller tower next to it. As for Amtrak I can’t see them not approving it but that bridge is pulling up to 100 years old, I imagine them wanting to fix or replace it first then approve.

If it’s open and people still haven’t went then wow, but if it isn’t open then that’s why it’s empty. The sad part is I don’t think it’s connected to the rest of the park

Probably after halo tower 3 is completed and is probably half way full or full with residents that’s when they’ll build the next two towers at the same time. Imagine this as the journal square towers

Yeah it really is, already on the fifth floor, we can let the instagram page keep the updates since they post after every story built. Can’t wait to see it in the skyline though

So I actually read the article this time and this is great. Right now it’s all proposed or approved projects which I do hope it can break ground. It’s pretty cool Newark is getting these little neighborhoods or cities inside the downtown area. Lincoln park can have its own, NJPAC is about to build there’s next fall, museum parc, CitiSquare, vermalla broad, and if halo towers can spark more development surrounding the towers then that’s a whole new neighborhood right there. Having multiple parts of a downtown area is pretty cool. How because people living in Lincoln park area may be doing different things in the CitiSquare area creating different vibes as you visit these neighborhoods. In 2030 which the majority of these projects should be finished in we will definitely see the difference. If we can’t get that path stop then maybe the city can raise money for that station or we can expand the light rail but the extra station would probably cost less.

Yes last time I saw I believe the foundations are about 80 to 90 percent done maybe more since it was about 2 weeks ago but foundations should be finished early January to mid January and we should see the tower start to rise in February. Topping off sometime in early 2023 and finishing later that year to open in 2024. I think it’s best we take less pics of the progress so we can see the difference bc with 777 we were posting it non stop

Idk about that some of the officers really don’t care if I activate the ticket or not. There were times where my ticket wasn’t stamped but they still take it. NJT can have all the rules they want for the light rail but it’s up to the enforcement to enforce those rules. The amount of high school kids I’ve seen get let go free is crazy and even when I was in highschool me and my friends never got into trouble with the officers when they decided to show up.

Yeah me having unused tickets is committing crimes. I bought a light rail ticket months ago and still no officer has collected it yet, I don’t think it’s a crime to use a ticket that has been stamped or collected. Even my online ticket I bought back in June still haven’t used it. But I am the problem

That’s weird, I don’t bother paying because the officers are never at any of the stations or trains. But what I usually do is buy some tickets just in case. The app takes 2 mins for the tickets to come on and it’s a waste of time and money to use it only once.

Not sure but I bet it got denied, the building is getting denied over petty shit. Sorry for my language and they won’t approve it because they know a taller building would replace it. The fact the members know and want this building to get knocked down they say no because the developer didn’t meet with James street association. I wish they approve the demolition so we can see the new changed design then make a final decision based off that, don’t complain about seeing the same project again if you keep doing the same thing to it.

Well that’s a great opinion and very understandable but the HPC won’t share the same opinion as you and judging on how they approve and not approve things I have a feeling that it won’t happen but who’s knows. If an old bank building with no purpose can get an approval can this more interesting and building structure get one too

The fact that a president spoke here once, one that many people believed freed and ended slavery it’s going to be a huge up hill battle for the developer to get this passed through the HPC. If The Arc tower is having problems trying to demolish a building that has no importance to the neighborhood or itself didn’t get approved I wouldn’t imagine this too but these days anything can happen and sometimes nothing.

It pains me to say this but I feel like it’s a dead project and don’t get me wrong I am behind this project buttttttttt it’s the third meeting, if it ends up being 5 council members again and it’s going to be another no unless the attorney found away to get everyone on board I honestly don’t see it getting approved tonight, we got lucky with halo and 777 and many more projects that are going to happen soon. So we can’t win them all I guess in the end but let’s be great full for another opportunity at a project at this scale and hope that the next one can do what this can not. The only way I can see this tower happening is if the height gets murdered, or the building having a similarly facade to one theater square or Shaq tower 1, but I can’t imagine that design with art deco
