I mean it was design by the same architecture firm so if anything this is a cousin of the halo tower. Don’t really see how it’s a real problem with the design. The majority of the new prudential tower is glass and so is this tower and they sit in the same historic district. It amazes me how other bigger cities can build these nice tall glassy towers in the middle of historic buildings and they still look nice. One Vanderbilt is only seconds away from the Empire State Building yet it looks nothing like it and it doesn’t. I wouldn’t have a problem if they made this building facade look similar to one theater square or both Shaq towers but we need some diversity in the skyline. Not every new building has to be as iconic or similar to those that’s been in Newark for more than 30 years. Besides look at the area halo is being constructed in there’s literally no other building that looks like it or has the same facade as it.

So to clear the air and because this project is at the top of my list I did a lot of research on it. So technically the first two towers should be the ones to get built since they were approved first. The original design was only to towers. When the design changed they also added the third tower and later got the third tower approved. So they decided to build the third tower first along with tower 1 and 2 parking podiums. Right now tower 3 is under construction, tower 1 and 2 are likely to break ground between 2025 or 2027. When they do break ground both towers will be built at the same time instead of one by one. I am guessing since they are the tallest they would need more than the 90 million dollar loan for the third tower. So the first two towers are already approved and can be built at anytime but for right now tower 3 will be the only one. Treat this project as the journal square towers and how each got built at different times etc etc. Towers 1 and 2 will exist in our skyline before 2030, let’s just hope their cousin on broad street can get approved and exist too. Also whoever picked none of the towers will get built is crazy 😂

I think he was talking about 900 broad street. It’s funny he said that because no action as took place on that site yet and the tower got approved same time or before halo towers original design got approved. I honestly don’t think that tower will ever get built, but it would be cool if it did.

Cityplex is pretty chill, if not cityplex try AMC in west orange NJ. I am not sure about the one in jersey gardens. I know there’s a movie theater in fort lee near the modern towers, it’s a cool place.

Guys idk about this tower, like I want to be very positive about this. They people in the meeting were complaining about the height were halo tower 3 is literally one story less than this tower even though this tower is 520 feet and not 485. If halo can do it this can too, praying the November second meeting goes well, if it doesn’t get approved maybe instead of making the tower all glass maybe they can add some art deco to it. Because the people of James street are crazy.

Yep she sure did, Ig that’s how they treat teenagers who support a project like this.

They moved the meeting up that good. Everyone who wants development, everyone who wants buildings in Newark, everyone who wants to see our beautiful city stand out and make Jersey city it’s shadow come to this meeting. If halo tower 3 can do it this can too.

It got its tax abatement so I am assuming everything worked out. Won’t see a ground breaking until next year most likely. They should start at the same time as NJPAC phase one development.

Reply to Newark Landmarks & Historic Preservation Commission hearing on 45-Story Arc Tower proposal scheduled for 11/2 at 6:00pm by Juicey_J_Hammerman
Welp ladies and gentlemen fans of Newark development tomorrow are evening will differently determine if this project happens or not. It should because if they can approve halo, and 900 broad street to glassy modern towers that don’t fit in their neighborhoods and would cast a large shadow got approved while one is actually under construction. I really hope this thing gets approved tomorrow night, I don’t have a problem with the facade looking similar to one theater square or the two Shaq towers to fit the area better as long as it stays 45 stories I am happy. The sky’s the limit it’s time for Newark to dream big. Makes no sense jersey city is approving towers taller than this left and right while we fall behind. Fingers crossed see y’all tomorrow
