Yeah, getting ideas to the length they need to be is challenging. I've still never written anything novel-length myself, but I've written some longer works. Here's an old post that helped me!

Oh, that's smart! Breaking it up into smaller stories would certainly help it feel less overwhelming!

You could put some of that editing work toward the goal if it comes back!
