Do NOT swim in this river. It’s far colder, deeper, and faster than it looks.

If it isn’t touching Puget Sound, it’s a hillbilly redneck shithole.

I’ve been here 5 decades and I still haven’t seen it all.

You missed the boat. Anything above 2000’ is getting snow, and is below freezing past about 8pm. The rain has moved in in the lowlands. Weather-wise you’ll be shit outta luck.

My advice? Bring snacks, water and blankets. Snoqualmie pass gets fucky sometimes. As you pass through Idaho, there are several old mining towns that look straight out of The Wild West. They are good to get off I-90 to stop for lunch and explore. One town we explored didn’t have any cars. It was all dirt bikes, quads, or SxS’s. All throughout the town. Oh and word of warning about Jellystone: The closer you get to the entrances, the costs of food, gas and lodging skyrocket. Load up on beer, gas and food in either Missoula, Butte or Livingston. If you stop in Butte, the Old town is up on the hill, and you can see The Berkeley Pit which is a massive abandoned open pit mine. The lower part is just a bunch of shitty strip malls.

Yep. I’ve lived here for nearly 50 years, and that’s the lowest I’ve ever seen it. It’s scary.

TIRES. You need M+S rated tires and also chains. And know how to put them on in the middle of nowhere. Recommend doing a practice run in a garage on dry ground and bringing a tarp for when you’re laying on your belly on the side of the highway getting sprayed with slush from logging trucks.

IDK or care where the fuck you go, but make sure your car has tires for snow and ice. Also expect most mountain passes to be closed. Carry snow chains and know how to install them on the side of a highway with logging trucks blasting by you while you’re laying on your belly in slush on the shoulder of the highway. Oh and pro-tip? Practice putting them on in a garage or carport before you have to get stuck up in the mountains trying to figure shit out.

Don’t waste your money. It’s a fucking ripoff. There is zero culture. The architecture is 1970’s garbage crap. Like concrete bunkers out of the Cold War. The degrees they pass out might as well be printed on toilet paper. You can literally get a BA in “comedy” by watching old VHS tapes of Richard Pryor.

Saw shit like this the night before Thanksgiving weekend. People were just getting their drinks on when the local shitheel cops came wading in with night sticks, smacking everyone upside the head. I was in the back, and those assfuck cops nearly caused a riot. Myself and my friend ran out through the back door into the alley and escaped. Came to find out a few days later that those cops clobbered the living shit out of like 50-75 people that were just in the wrong tavern at the wrong time.

Go in July/August. It’s bumper to bumper innertubes and rafts. Also you can’t find parking unless you get there at 5am.

Last time we went, it was a shitshow. All the local beer stands had been replaced by InBev crap beer, and it had been moved to an open field over by the airport. The 1st time I went was back around 1996. Also, back then, it was rainy at this time of year, not all dusty and full of smoke.

Never attempt to head home over the passes on a Sunday. Everyone is trying to get home, all at once, so the Snoqualmie Pass traffic jam of people trying to get to Seattle can stretch from The Summit all the way east to Ellensburg. Oh and US2 is a fucking death trap. Speaking of traps, i90 is lined with speed traps from Cle Elum to Issaquah.
