No. I've read enough to know that there will be future gems. I've come across many in my life. We all have different tastes though. To me, Gone Girl was just OK and had some plot holes. But many many loved it!! That's reading!! :-)

It's a load of hateful, controlling, pseudo-Christian, malarky. The advice isn't all bad but there's a load of BS in there. You aren't useless today, at least most of us aren't. To imagine that you can keep your children from doing things you don't like is madness. The division of the sexes is at best counterproductive. "Boys to boy things..." Seriously? What a fool.

Yes, be responsible (no excuses), speak clearly and say what you mean. Do meaningful things. Be truthful. Recognize that everyone knows things that you don't.

But "we all deserve to die" ??? Those are words to live by?!?! Trash that book.

The movie, “The Princess Bride”, does this well. Allende’s book, “The Stories of Eva Luna” uses stories within a story from the character that appeared in her book, “Eva Luna”.

NEVER compare yourself to others because way too many of us either overestimate the success and happiness of others or underestimate it. Either way provides false perspective.

Life is meant to be lived and we should strive to be happy and good. Many “successful” people are miserable and many we might deem to be failures are very happy in life. Treat yourself kindly. Forgive yourself your shortcomings and strive to learn from mistakes. And do not fall into the stupid generation stereotyping. Everyone, or even most, in any given generation are not alike. Within ever generation there’s wide diversity.

I’m an old guy and continually dream up new challenges, new things to learn, new plans. And I follow up with most. Put down the screens and go live life.
