I don’t mind BBQ but I know this BBQ is either going to be good and expensive, or bad and expensive. So it’s not going to be an every day place.

I agree the space would be better served with something similar to a Balthazar Bakery that served coffee, lunch sandwiches, light dinner fare.

The floor drain in a bathroom is more of a commercial thing than residential thing and there is no code requiring it AFAIK.

A lot of buildings do actually have a light fixture in the living room, just not recessed, there’s typically nothing in the bedrooms though.

It’s also because the ceilings of most luxury buildings are concrete slabs in the bedroom and living room. I have recessed lighting in the hallway, kitchen and bathroom because they had the ability to do it due to the gwb ceiling used to conceal the sprinkler branch piping

It’s not even the school budget that’s going to be the issue. It’s going to be the expiring PILOTs. Right now the municipality is getting the vast majority of payments from buildings that have a PILOT program. Once those expire, that payment (which may in some cases be more than the actual tax levy) will get distributed between the municipality, the county, and the district per the established percentages.

Basically what that means is there’s gonna be a municipality shortfall and in order to make that up there’s going to have to be cuts or tax increases.

Yeah people are grouchy here.

Was simply saying I’m glad they’re successful, but their success scaled faster than their ability to cope with it. Which in my perspective is a downfall because only a select few get to go. If I can’t eat somewhere because it’s impossible to, i just move on to the next place and wish them continued luck.

It’s the hospitality industry and waiting up till midnight to secure a table for the following Friday isn’t very hospitable

But it really just goes to show how the NYT review was instrumental in the success. Not knocking success because success is success, but I used to go to Razza at least biweekly pre 2017. Since 2017 I’ve gone 2 times because I can’t easily get a table unless I stalk a reservation at midnight.

They’ve become a hype restaurant.
