Definitely been that way for a While. Will be the death of VT. VT will either become NJ or WV. With the current demographics, it looks like WV.

You do realize that many of the NIMBYs grew up in Jersey and moved here w/ their parents $, right?

I would look elsewhere. Unless You are independently wealthy, the quality of like here is quite low. Expect very rundown housing, if you can get it, very little social interaction, and expect any job you get to be 50% understaffed, so you will be doing the work of @least two people.

This is the new Vermont. Try hiring. It's terrible. I can't imagine what all this is going to look like in 10 years. Sort of predictable. If we're going to be the WFH/ trustafarian capital of New England, this is sort of inevitable.

Yeah, I totally don't know what that means. I'm sure you could fill me in :)
Also, I'm definitely not a smug, condescending douchebag. Not at all. Nope. Not me. Never ever. :)

Chittenden county has turned into NJ/ MA since Covid. Definitely not a cool place anymore, it's mostly old rich people/work from home types now.

Yeah that's not accurate. A small percentage certainly do, but they tend not to stay homeless long. Your long term homeless are crazy or addicted or both. Usually both.

This is so hilariously off base. When was this "corporate welfare" program created, oh wise one?

Reply to Vermont lawmakers aim to make housing more available and affordable by dropkickninja
No one really believes they want to build more housing, right? We want VT to be "rural" and it must look like a Currier and Ives print. If that means only rich old people/trustafarians can live here, oh well.
Does anyone think affordable housing would even matter? The workforce/demographic problem is so severe that even new housing doesn't seem like it would be enough. How in the world do you convince young people to move to the oldest (2nd oldest?) state in the country, where there is absolutely nothing to do by design?
