"Vermont is a pretty diverse place." Say what? You mean like variations on "rich white boomer"?

This is about 50 years too young, otherwise accurate.

In Burlington it's usually a couple of hours and they're fine.

As long as you don't have kids you give a shit about and plan to be dead in the next 30 years, this theory is sound.

Vermont has all types of *white people*, and the dominant type here is old and rich. Vermont does not have all types of people from all walks of life. We are far too exclusive for that.
Unless black people move here and instantly become invisible (as I'm sure any black people not living in Chittenden County would like to be), we definitely do not have all types of people here. At all.

There isn't really enough information here to answer, but...
In general, no. If you have AWD/4WD and are staying in the Champlain Valley, you definitely do not need snow tires, unless there is a large storm and you plan on driving before the streets have been plowed.
If you are venturing outside of Chittenden County, they would be good to have, but buying and installing winter tires for a few day trip is not worth it to me.
I went years in AWD cars w/out snow tires, and I didn't stay in Chittenden County. No accidents. Drive accordingly and you'll be fine.

Yes, baby boomers found another way to make money on future generations with no effort on their part. Housing being the other one.

It's not for Vermonters. UVM is a state university of New Jersey, not VT. St Mike's is the same except its Massachusetts, but at least St Mike's is private.

No offense, but you might consult a more definitive source of information, given the potential consequences of being wrong. Is there a regulating agency you can call?

I'm not saying that there isn't a need for new housing. I'm saying you'll find that VT is populated, in large part, by wealthy old people who will fight development tooth and nail.

I think policy-wise, the emphasis now is on mixed income developments. Concentrated public housing frequently turns into "ghetto" housing projects.

I think you'll find that a lot of people here think that if wages were better and housing were accessible, Vermont wouldn't be Vermont.

I think this is part of the new Vermont. It also includes driving a luxury car in the most obnoxious way possible and talking loudly about all the great things you used to do on Long Island.

VT has always been a place where a lot of people are here because their parents supplement their income. No way to measure this, but I bet percentage wise, VT has an extremely disproportionate amount of people with allowances.

Anyone who thinks they can "avoid climate change" is already fooling themselves. And the idea that VT is immune is silly. We had a freaking rainbow and a storm that knocked out power for thousands of people LAST WEEK.

Yeah, don't forget Jersey. Because rich white people from Jersey are climate "refugees", not the people from places like India and Pakistan where it's 120 degrees.
